  • Swansea have won only one game so far in 2026

  • Blackburn sit just one point above the relegation zone

  • Recommended bet: Swansea to win

Swansea may have gotten off to an excellent start to 2026 by securing a 1-0 win over West Brom, but that remains their only victory of the year.

The Swans suffered a 2-1 loss to Millwall in their next game, then bowed out of the FA Cup on penalties to the Baggies, and on Saturday they drew 1-1 with Birmingham.

Blackburn have not won a match since a 2-0 win over Millwall on December 20, losing two of their six matches since and suffering a penalty shootout loss to Hull in the FA Cup.

Team news

The home side will be missing Adam Idah for this clash against Rovers, as the Irishman is still recovering from a hamstring problem.

In more positive news, Liam Cullen could be set for a start as he emerged from the bench during the 1-1 draw against Birmingham last time out.

Blackburn are in a far worse state regarding injuries.

Indeed, Kristi Montgomery, Scott Wharton, Hayden Carter, Matty Litherland, Ryoya Morishita, Augustus Kargbo, Ryan Hedges and Andri Gudjohnsen will be missing.

Elsewhere, it looks likely that Axel Henriksson will be unavailable after coming off in the loss against Ipswich last time out.

The stats

Since the 2018-19 season, these two clubs have met 15 times, with Swansea winning seven of those fixtures.

Rovers have only won four of these matches in that time period and have lost three of their last four games against the Swans.

Tuesday's visitors have won just once in the Championship since December 9, a 2-0 win over Millwall and a run of four draws and two defeats has followed that match.

Swansea won three of their four matches over the festive period, but have not won a game since January 1.

The Swans have scored only 28 times across 27 league matches this term, with Blackburn netting 24 goals, the third-worst attacking record in the Championship this season.

Swansea won the reverse meeting between the two sides earlier this season, emerging from Ewood Park with all three points courtesy of a 2-1 victory.

Prediction

This match is likely to be a tight affair as neither team will want to give too much away.

Blackburn are in desperate need of a win to move away from the relegation zone, but their recent form suggests they will find that difficult.

Swansea might also be on a winless run, but with home advantage against a team struggling in 20th place, this is the ideal time to return to winning ways in the Championship.
