  • Stoke's season in danger of petering out after winter slump

  • Leicester are in the grips of another relegation battle

  • Recommended bet: Leicester draw no bet

A desperate run of form and a six-point deduction has left Leicester fighting for their Championship lives and they will be desperate to get their act together when they travel to Stoke on Saturday under the guidance of new boss Gary Rowett.

The Potters have a lot more breathing space but hopes of at least making the play-offs look to have been extinguished by their own poor sequence of results and this clash could turn out to be a real grind.

Team news

Stoke boss Mark Robins is dealing with an injury crisis with Viktor Johansson, Gavin Bazunu, Bosun Lawal, Junior Tchamadeu, Lewis Baker, Ato Ampah, Divin Mubama, Robert Bozenik and Sam Gallagher all unavailable.

As for Leicester, on-loan midfielder Joe Aribo could feature after being ineligible to play in two games against his parent club Southampton, while Bobby De Cordova-Reid is serving the final match of a three-goal ban.

Jamaal Lascelles, Jannik Vestergaard, Harry Souttar, Hamza Choudhury, Jordan James and Aaron Ramsey are all on the treatment table.

The stats

Both teams have scored in 13 of Leicester's last 16 Championship away games.

There have been fewer than three goals in each of Stoke's last six matches.

The Foxes have taken one point from their last six games and have not kept a league clean sheet since September 20.

Stoke have scored more than once in just two of their last 15 Championship outings.

The Potters have won just two of their last nine games on their own patch.

Prediction

If relegation from the Premier League last year was a disappointment for Leicester, another demotion to League One would be almost unthinkable, but the managerless Foxes find themselves in the bottom three after being docked six points.

They have gained just one point from their last six matches, but there have been encouraging signs in their last two games against Southampton, even though they lost both in desperate circumstances.

They stormed into a three-goal lead in a home game against the Saints and were cruising, only to fall to a 4-3 defeat, while they were then beaten by the same opponents in the FA Cup, falling 2-1 in extra-time on the south coast last weekend.

The tide should turn soon and they face a Stoke team who are also out of form and dealing with an extensive injury list.

The Potters have failed to score in their last three matches and while the draw looks a big price, there could be some value in backing Leicester to end their miserable run, although siding with them in the draw-no-bet market looks the most sensible option.
