Stoke got a monkey off their back on Tuesday when they ended a run of seven straight Championship losses with a 1-0 win over Norwich and Mark Robins’ Potters will hope that success will be a turning point.

However, they take on a Charlton side on Saturday who are unbeaten in their opening four second-tier matches, and can be a tough nut to crack under Nathan Jones, who returns looking to get one over his former club.

Nathaniel Chalobah will undergo a fitness test for the Addicks, but Kayne Ramsey, Collins Sichenje and Billy Koumetio are injured for the visitors.

Prediction

There was a lot of relief at Stoke City on Tuesday when a 1-0 win over Norwich gave the Potters their first win of the season, but a second success in less than a week is far from guaranteed when high-flying Charlton pay them a visit on Saturday.

The home side were fortunate to get three points against the Canaries after creating little and doing a lot of defending, and they face a side who, despite being tipped for relegation by many over the summer, have taken 10 points from their opening four games.

The Addicks, led by former Stoke boss Jones, battled well to earn a 1-1 draw at West Brom on Wednesday and despite having a day less than their opponents to recover, they are capable of at least gaining a point from their visit to the Potteries.

Striker Tyreece Campbell got a goal at The Hawthorns and has scored in four of his five appearances this season, so he is taken to have at least one shot on target.

Meanwhile the Addicks' defence can hold firmly enough against a team who have scored more than once in just one of their last 12 games, to ensure there are fewer than three goals in the game.
