Derby head to Fratton Park to face Portsmouth in the Championship on Tuesday night still searching for their first win of the season.

John Eustace led Derby to eighth in the last campaign but the Rams have picked up just one point in their three league games this season, losing 3-0 at home to Swansea on Saturday.

Portsmouth have one win to their name, a 3-1 success at newly-promoted Lincoln, but were then beaten 2-1 at Bristol City at the weekend.

Team news

Portsmouth winger Josh Murphy is a doubt with a groin issue though Regan Poole, an unused substitute at Bristol City, is pushing for a return following a hamstring problem.

Forwards Franco Umeh, Thomas Waddingham and Keshi Anderson, along with defender Connor Ogilvie, have all been ruled out.

Derby forwards Carlton Morris and Patrick Agyemang and centre-back Matt Clarke have been ruled out through injury, although midfielder Lewis Travis, who took a knock in the defeat by Swansea, should be fit to start.

The stats

All four Portsmouth games have featured three or more goals this season, with both teams scoring in each, while 3-1 has been a correct score in three of them.

Derby have not lost a league game at Fratton Park since January 2008.

Portsmouth have scored in each of their last 13 games, last drawing a blank in a 1-0 home defeat by Derby back in March.

John Eustace is unbeaten in his last four league meetings with Portsmouth, winning two and drawing two.

Prediction

Derby and manager John Eustace have enjoyed a good record over Portsmouth in recent years but they could be in for a difficult night on Tuesday.

The Rams have not lost at Fratton Park in the league since a 3-1 defeat in the top flight back in 2008 while Eustace is unbeaten in four games against this opposition.

However, with home advantage and the pressure on Derby having yet to win this season, Pompey should have the edge and can take the three points.

Every game featuring Portsmouth or Derby so far this season, eight in total, has featured three or more goals.

With both teams scoring in each Pompey match and the Rams conceding three at home on Saturday, backing over 2.5 goals when the sides meet this week looks a good angle to take.

Looking at where the goals could come from for Portsmouth, Adrian Segecic may prove a good pick to score anytime.

The Croatia Under-21 international, who signed from Australian outfit Sydney FC last summer, already has two goals to his name this season, netting the opener at West Ham before scoring another in the victory over Lincoln at Sincil Bank.

Derby are struggling at the start of the campaign and though Eustace is capable of guiding a turnaround, Portsmouth will be confident they can get the win in front of their own fans on Tuesday.

Score prediction: Portsmouth 2-1 Derby

Back Portsmouth to win, over 2.5 goals & Adrian Segecic anytime goalscorer at 15/2 with LiveScore Bet.
