  • Oxford are hoping to build on Saturday's 0-0 draw at title contenders Coventry

  • Four of Norwich's five league fixtures in February are against teams in the bottom four

  • Recommended bet: Norwich to win

Norwich have dragged themselves out of the Championship relegation zone since Philippe Clement took charge in November and they will be eyeing another three points on Tuesday.

Hosts Oxford are 23rd in the 24-team table and their only victory in their last eight league matches came against fellow strugglers Leicester.

However, manager Matt Bloomfield was delighted with his side's display at long-time leaders Coventry on Saturday as they held out for a 0-0 draw despite being reduced to 10 men in the 77th minute.

Team news

Oxford's Will Lankshear is suspended following his red card at Coventry. Brian De Keersmaecker and Jamie Donley are sidelined but Jack Currie could return to the squad and January signing Aidomo Emakhu made his debut at the weekend.

Norwich are missing the injured Harry Amass, Shane Duffy, Jeffrey Schlupp and Matej Jurasek as well as out-of-favour striker Josh Sargent.

Papa Amadou Diallo suffered an injury in the warm-up against Blackburn on Saturday and is a doubt along with Jovon Makama.

The stats

Oxford failed to score in five of their six home defeats in this season's Championship.

Three of Oxford's last six matches have ended 0-0.

Oxford have won only two of their last 13 league games.

Only one of Norwich's last 11 league matches featured over 3.5 goals.

The Canaries have won four of their last five Championship fixtures.

Five of Norwich's last 12 league defeats were by a 1-0 scoreline.

Prediction

Oxford's 0-0 draw at Coventry should be regarded as a point gained rather than two points dropped as the Sky Blues racked up 24 shots to their visitors' four.

But creditable draws will not be enough to haul Oxford out of relegation trouble so they must take risks in pursuit of maximum points against in-form Norwich.

Having steadied the ship since his arrival in November, Norwich boss Philippe Clement will be looking to kick on in February.

His side ground out a 2-0 home victory over struggling Blackburn on Saturday and three of their next four league matches are against survival rivals Oxford and Leicester as well as bottom club Sheffield Wednesday.

Oxford are dogged opponents but they have failed to score in their last four home fixtures, losing 1-0 to Swansea and 2-0 to Birmingham either side of January's 0-0 draws with Bristol City and QPR.

That lack of cutting edge up front is a concern as they take on a Norwich side who have won four of their last five league games.

The only blot on their recent record was a 1-0 defeat at title-chasing Middlesbrough but they had thrashed West Brom 5-0 in their previous away fixture.

The Canaries also won 2-1 at play-off hopefuls Wrexham and came from behind to beat Coventry by the same scoreline at Carrow Road last month.

Injuries are stacking up for the Norfolk club but Saturday's stalemate will have taken a lot out of Oxford's players and they may struggle to keep the Canaries quiet on Tuesday night.
