  • Norwich have lost their last seven home games

  • Leicester have won their last four fixtures against Norwich

  • Recommended bet: Leicester to win

Norwich started the season with promotion ambitions but they are preparing for the home game against Leicester on Saturday knowing that even a victory would not be enough to lift them out of the relegation zone.

The Canaries are the only team in the top four divisions with a 100 per cent losing home record, but they picked up a midweek point after coming from behind to draw 1-1 away to basement boys Sheffield Wednesday.

Sorting out the home form is a high priority, but the Canaries face a tricky challenge against mid-table Leicester, who are desperate to emerge from their own sticky patch.

An immediate return to the Premier League was the pre-season plan for Leicester, but they find themselves entrenched in mid-table after a run of five games without a win.

Team news

Mathias Kvistgaarden was a scoring substitute for Norwich in the 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday and is pushing for a return to the starting XI.

However, Jeffrey Schlupp was forced off with a hamstring injury in that game and the former Leicester player has joined Jose Cordoba, Gabriel Forsyth, Papa Diallo, Ben Chrisene, Lucien Mahovo, Amadou Diallo, Ante Crnac and Jack Stacey in the treatment room.

First choice goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk is a doubt for Leicester after suffering a groin injury during Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at home to Middlesbrough.

Harry Souttar (Achilles) and Aaron Ramsey (hamstring) are out of contention but Bobby De Cordova-Reid has made back-to-back substitute appearances and could be considered for his third league start of the campaign.

The stats

Norwich have gone 10 games without a win.

The Canaries have conceded the first goal in each of their last seven fixtures.

Six of Norwich’s last eight games have featured less than three goals.

Norwich have lost their last three home matches without scoring and they have gone nine games at Carrow Road without keeping a clean sheet.

Leicester have scored in seven of their last eight away matches.

Prediction

Leicester are lacking a bit of confidence after recent results but they can sign off for November’s international break with an away victory over third-bottom Norwich.

The Foxes are finding out that life in the Championship has become a lot trickier than the 2023-24 campaign when they stormed to the title with 97 points.

And Marti Cifuentes’s side were left bitterly disappointed on Tuesday when conceding a 96th-minute equalising goal in a 1-1 draw at home to Middlesbrough.

Leicester need their fortunes to turn and the moment could arrive at Carrow Road, which has become the happiest of hunting grounds for visiting teams.

The injury-hit Canaries are on a run of seven successive home defeats and their Norfolk nightmare may be set to continue.
