Hull face Ipswich Town at the MKM Stadium aiming to bounce back from Saturday's 3-2 defeat by Queens Park Rangers.

The Tractor Boys, meanwhile, were held at home by Wrexham but the result saw Kieran McKenna's side extend their unbeaten run to five matches.

Team news

Oli McBurnie is still out with a calf injury while Liam Millar, Eliot Matazo and Kasey Palmer remain sidelined.

John Lundstram could feature after missing the last seven games but Matt Crooks is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season on Monday.

Ipswich goalkeeper Alex Palmer is still out and is joined on the sidelines by Conor Townsend, Harry Clarke and Wes Burns.

The trip to Hull has also come around too soon for Sammie Szmodics, who had knee surgery in October.

The stats

After a 13-game unbeaten league run against Ipswich between 2010 and 2020 (W10, D3), Hull have now lost two of their last three against the Tractor Boys (D1).

Ipswich have won just two of their 20 away league games against Hull (D7, L11), winning 5-2 in March 2007 and 1-0 in February 2021.

Hull are unbeaten in their last six home league matches (W4, D2), their longest since a nine-game run between April and September 2023.

Ipswich have won their last two away league games, beating both QPR and Swansea 4-1. They last won three in a row in March 2024, while they've never previously scored 4+ goals in three consecutive games.

Prediction

Hull's last two defeats have come on the road and so they will be glad to be back at home where they are unbeaten in six.

The Tigers are currently in the play-off picture but are just a point ahead of Ipswich, meaning Tuesday night's fixture takes on extra significance.

Both teams are struggling for consistency and could cancel each other out at the MKM Stadium.

A point apiece would see the two sides maintain their push for the top six.

Looking at Hull's scoring form at home and Ipswich's ability to find the net on the road, there should be plenty of action at both ends with the two teams looking likely to score.

After a stuttering start to life back in the Championship following last season's relegation after just a year in the Premier League, the Tractor Boys have scored four goals in each of their last two away games.

Hull striker Joe Gelhardt, meanwhile, has found the net in each of his last three home league games.

Should the forward score again, talk will increase around him matching the record set by Jarrod Bown for the Tigers between December 2018 and March 2019 when the now-England international netted in eight straight matches.
