  • Derby have won three of their last five league games

  • Swansea have lost nine of their 15 away Championship matches

  • Recommended Bet: Derby to win

There are five 3pm kick-offs in the Championship on Saturday, including an interesting match-up at Pride Park as Derby host Swansea.

The pair head into the weekend in 11th and 15th place in the table, but in the tightly-packed midfield of the English second tier, that means Derby are only two points off the final play-off position and Swansea are within five points of their Welsh rivals Wrexham, who currently hold the coveted sixth spot.

Derby won 2-1 in the teams' first league meeting of the season at the Swansea.com Stadium in November and they could have the upper hand again at home.

Team news

Derby's Lewis Travis is suspended after his red card against Ipswich. Callum Elder (knee) and Dion Sanderson (calf) missed that game and will have to be assessed, with Derry Murkin a candidate to come into the starting line-up.

Carlton Morris, Max Johnston, Jacob Widell Zetterstrom and Sondre Langas are set to remain out of action for this match.

Gustavo Nunes, Ethan Galbraith and Liam Cullen came into the Swansea side for the win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Jay Fulton, Leo Walta and Eom Ji-sung are candidates to start if manager Vitor Matos decides to freshen up his line-up again.

Prediction

If Derby were as efficient at home as they are in their away performances, the Rams would probably already be in the play-off places. As it is, six draws and six defeats in 16 games at Pride Park have held them back this season.

John Eustace's side have been going along quite nicely overall, though, and last week's 2-1 defeat by in-form Ipswich was forgivable and made harder by midfielder Lewis Travis' unfortunate combination of an early own goal and a late red card.

That result brought the mood down after Derby's 5-0 away win at Bristol City but with other recent successes over Preston and Charlton and a draw against West Brom, there have not been too many setbacks for the Rams.

Swansea are an improved team under new manager Vitor Matos, and they should end up in a more satisfactory position than their current 15th place, but they have yet to win against a top-half team on the road this season and three of their four away wins have come against the teams in the relegation places.

It could be a close contest but Derby can come through to record a welcome home success.
