Coventry City will be hoping to make it four straight Championship wins on Saturday when they take on off-colour Stoke at the CBS Arena.

Frank Lampard's men are five points clear of the chasing pack and flying whereas the Potters, managed by Lampard's predecessor Mark Robins, have gone off the boil after a bright start to the season.

Team news

Frank Lampard had doubts over both Ephon Mason-Clark and Haji Wright going into Wednesday night's 2-1 win at Bramall Lane, but both started and appeared to come through unscathed.

Keeper Viktor Johansson plus outfield stars Junior Tchamadeu, Lewis Baker, Bosun Lawal, Robert Bozenik, Sam Gallagher and Divin Mubama are all out for the visitors, with Mark suggesting "one or two" could be in the squad this weekend.

The stats

Stoke and Coventry have met twice already this season, once in the Championship and once in the FA Cup and have claimed one 1-0 victory each.

The Sky Blues have won three in a row and have lost only one of 17 home matches this season, winning 13 of those.

Five of the last six meetings between these two teams have produced one goal or less.

Stoke had been without a league win in seven before snapping that run on Wednesday with a hard-earned 2-1 success over lowly Oxford.

Stoke's Ben Pearson has collected no fewer than 10 yellow cards and one red in his last 23 appearances.

Prediction

Coventry appear to have come through a sticky spell to reel off three straight wins and they have to be confident of making it four in a row against Stoke.

LiveScore Bet's 11/25 about Lampard's Championship pace-setters reflects the perceived imbalance between these two, with the hosts back on form as Stoke fall away.

The Potters had started the season so brightly – they kicked off 2025/26 with four wins in five – and have to believe they can make a statement at the CBS having beaten Coventry 1-0 in the FA Cup.

But it is their league form that is the problem, with a seven-game winless run from the middle of January seeing them nosedive out of the play-off race.

Wednesday's 2-1 win over Oxford at least stopped the bleeding, but this is a step up in class.

The home side, meanwhile, have won three in a row, including real statement triumphs over Middlesbrough and Sheff Utd and the nine-point gap between themselves and third-placed Millwall is looking very healthy.

The Potters have scored only 15 goals away from home this season and that lack of goals has become far more pronounced over the last couple of months.

To that end, and with Coventry having no problems with firepower, a better alternative to the home win at a short price is LiveScore Bet's 8/5 for the Sky Blues win to nil.
