John Eustace left Blackburn to take charge of Derby and he will be hoping that he can steer his current side to a fifth straight victory when they visit the home of his former employers on Saturday.

The Rams’ four-match winning streak has seen them rise up to 11th in the Championship standings but they meet another in-form rival in Blackburn, who have claimed maximum points in their last three league outings.

There is plenty of substance to the recent form of Rovers following their wins over Southampton, Leicester and Bristol City and they will be confident of bursting the Derby bubble.

Team news

Blackburn manager Valerien Ismael says he expects to be without Scott Wharton and Balazs Toth for the visit of Derby while Sondre Tronstad is suspended.

Rovers are also missing the services of Moussa Baradji, Todd Cantwell, Hayden Carter, Jake Garrett and Augustus Kargbo through injury.

Derby remain without Max Johnston, Owen Beck, Curtis Nelson, Liam Thompson and Lewis Travis and could be unchanged from the side that beat Hull 2-1 last time out.

The stats

Blackburn have won their last three Championship clashes, recording back-to-back clean sheets over Leicester and Bristol City.

Derby have won four Championship matches on the spin, although three of those successes were recorded on home soil.

The last seven meetings between these sides have gone over 2.5 goals, with both teams scoring on the last five occasions.

Both teams have scored in six of Blackburn’s last seven home matches.

Eight of Derby’s last 10 matches have gone under 2.5 goals.

Blackburn have won five of their last six meetings with Derby.

Prediction

These are two of the Championship’s form teams and that should lead to an entertaining affair in which home advantage may be key for Blackburn.

Derby have won four on the spin but Blackburn have reeled off three successive victories in their own right and that includes overcoming two sides from last season’s Premier League in Leicester and Southampton.

Meanwhile, three of Derby’s four recent victories have come at Pride Park and away from home they have won only two of their six outings.

Blackburn have dominated their recent rivalry with the Rams and, while they can maintain that superiority, it is hard to see them keeping a clean-sheet.

Ismael’s men have conceded in each of their seven home matches this season and Derby have failed to score in only one of their last eight.
