Moses Sesay isn’t the only Southampton prospect fans should be getting excited about
Moses Sesay has made quite the early impression on fans of his new loan club.
From only seven League Two appearances at Colchester United to date, the young Southampton midfielder has scored three goals, and collected one assist, with a stylish brace picked up last time out against Shrewsbury Town.
Sesay will be hoping he has a bright future ahead at St. Mary's, away from setting the fourth tier alight, with the 19-year-old's versatile ability to play as a midfielder, or as a makeshift defender, making him a very useful asset to have long-term.
Sesay is far from being the only exciting homegrown prodigy at this moment in time, with lots expected of this raw attacker, as well, who has just penned a new bumper deal with the Championship club until 2029.
The other Saints prospect worth getting excited about
The unpolished diamond in question here is Baylee Dipepa, who has been situated on the South Coast since 2024, after moving to St. Mary's from Port Vale.
Since arriving, he has been an enthralling watch in the youth set-up, with 17 goals in his back pocket for both the U18s and U21s, from 40 appearances.
He has had a lot of severe injury issues as of late, with 2026 noted as being a "challenging" year for the 19-year-old when the contract news was unveiled by Director of Group Talent Strategy Andy Goldie, but handing him a new contract, irrespective of his long absences in the treatment room, shows you how highly rated he is.
It will be some time before Dipepa is being named in the first team, alongside a rising Sesay, but he is an option that will be kept on the back burner, you imagine, with Cyle Larin not a spring chicken at 31 years of age, and Divin Mubama only a temporary back-up.

He was even on the radar of Manchester United, allegedly, when turning heads at Vale Park.
If he can do all this as a naive, but talented youngster, it's frightening to think what levels Dipepa could reach in the Championship, if he's developed correctly at St. Mary's.
He would likely need a loan spell away from the South Coast when he's fully up to speed, and the lingering injury issues aren't present, so he can cut his teeth a little more in the senior game.
This loan route is doing Sesay the world of good, after all, with the future extremely bright at Southampton with another golden generation potentially coming through, away from the machine Tonda Eckert has constructed in the Championship right now.
