David Gray's Hibernian have left themselves with plenty to do against Malisheva in the Conference League.

Hibernian will look to bounce back and continue their Conference League campaign when they welcome Malisheva to Easter Road on Thursday evening.

David Gray's team were expected to outclass their Kosovan hosts last week, but they fell to a shocking 2-0 defeat.

They now have work to do, but home advantage should be crucial to their success.

Team news

Hibs boss Gray has been unable to call upon the services of centre-back Rocky Bushiri due to an Achilles issue and he is expected back at the start of August.

Midfielders Jamie McGrath and Nicky Cadden both picked up calf injuries last week and face a race against time to prove their fitness.

Malisheva boss Thomas Brdaric saw his team pick up a superb win last week, and more importantly, they avoided any major injury concerns.

That means Brdaric should name the same starting XI for Thursday's meeting in Edinburgh.

The stats

Hibernian have lost three of their last five matches and six of their previous 10 games.

The Hibees have lost their last three competitive matches at home, but they were unbeaten in their previous nine games at Easter Road.

Malisheva have only lost two of their last 11 competitive games in all competitions.

However, the Kosovan club are winless in three away from home and have only won two of their previous ten games on their travels.

Prediction

Hibernian are fortunate that they get a shot at redemption in this Conference League tie and they should have enough quality to take it.

As is often the case in the qualifier rounds of the competition, a lot of teams fare much better at home and Malisheva are certainly one of those teams.

Two wins in ten away games suggests Malisheva struggle to compete on the road and a packed Easter Road awaits them.

Hibernian had more possession last week in the first leg and one fewer shot than their hosts, but this week they should make it count.

Gray's team only lost five of their 19 home games in the Scottish Premiership last season and they should be able to hit the ground running and pick up a victory.

However, Malisheva proved last week they can give Hibs problems and they have scored in 13 of their last 15 away ties.

The hosts have conceded in four consecutive games and may need to qualify the hard way on Thursday night.
