Team news
Michael Carrick is without a host of players for their Champions League opener, with Manuel Ugarte, Amad Diallo, Carlos Baleba, Tom Heaton and Matthijs de Ligt all ruled out.
Marcus Rashford has picked up a knock and may not be risked on Thursday, but the likes of Matheus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes and Bryan Mbeumo should all retain their places.
Sabah's only injury concern is Khayal Aliyev, who is sidelined with a tendon rupture.
The Azerbaijanis will rely on Veljko Simic to provide much of their attacking threat, with the 31-year-old having scored six goals during qualifying.
The stats
Manchester United have conceded in all three games this season, but the Red Devils have had 68 shots across those three fixtures.

Prediction
United's fragile backline was brought into question once again at the weekend as they were pegged back twice at Everton, eventually being forced to settle for a 2-2 draw.
They have now conceded exactly twice in all three Premier League games this season and, while Sabah are a step below their previous opponents, the Azerbaijani side could strike at Old Trafford.
Sabah have scored in all 11 competitive games this season and they are worth taking to get on the scoresheet.
That's not to say that United are expected to struggle, though. Despite their underwhelming results, they have registered an enormous 68 shots across their three games and have had at least 21 efforts in two of those, including 33 shots against Ipswich.
Youri Tielemans and Diogo Dalot have been responsible for 11 of those 68 shots and are standouts in the shots market.
Tielemans has had three shots on target in his last two appearances and should enjoy plenty of the ball against Sabah, while Dalot is expected to spent large periods of the game in attacking positions and has had five shots in his two starts this term.
Score prediction: Manchester United 4-1 Sabah
