PSG won the first leg last week at home 2-0
Liverpool were knocked out by PSG in last season’s competition at last-16 stage
Recommended bet: Liverpool to win and both teams to score
Liverpool will attempt to keep their hopes of silverware alive this season by overturning a 2-0 first-leg deficit against reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday.
However, the Reds face a huge task at Anfield after they were outclassed by the French giants in Paris.
Team news
Liverpool boss Arne Slot must decide whether to hand teenager Rio Ngumoha a second successive start after his dazzling display against Fulham on Saturday.
Curtis Jones looks to have shrugged off a knock to be available, while Alexander Isak will hope for his first start since his recent recovery from injury.
Alisson Becker, Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo and Giovanni Leoni are all out injured.
PSG hope Bradley Barcola will be fit to return to the squad after making a swift recovery from an ankle injury but Fabian Ruiz and Quentin Ndjantou remain sidelined for the European champions.
The stats
Liverpool finished third in the league phase after winning six of their eight games and losing the other two.
PSG came 11th in the first stage with four wins, two draws and two defeats.
Liverpool have won just one of their last four games in all competitions.
PSG are on a five-game winning run in all competitions, scoring 17 goals in that time.

Prediction
It could have been a lot worse for Liverpool coming into the second leg as PSG were wasteful at home last week, while the Reds were also fortunate a penalty decision against them was overturned in their favour by VAR late on at the Parc des Princes.
As it is, a 2-0 deficit is not insurmountable but up against a classy PSG outfit, brimming with attacking talent, it looks unlikely Slot’s side, who have been inconsistent for most of the campaign, can turn the tie around.
Saturday’s 2-0 home win over Fulham in the league was a much-improved performance, ending a three-game losing streak which included the first-leg loss and limp displays against Brighton and Manchester City in the FA Cup.
However, taking on the European champions is a major step up.
Liverpool have often reserved their best performances for Europe this season but it would take something really special for them to claw back the deficit and Slot’s side do not look capable of it.
They will aim for early goals to try and get back into the tie, and may do enough to win the second leg, although with PSG also expected to score, the visitors should progress still overall.
