Dinamo Zagreb needed a spectacular comeback to beat Thun 4-3 on aggregate in their opening Champions League qualifying tie this season.

However, the Croatians cruised past Kauno Zalgiris 7-1 in the third qualifying round to set up a play-off against Norwegian champions Viking.

Tuesday's first leg takes place in Zagreb, where Viking may well be inspired by the success of compatriots Bodo/Glimt in last season's Champions League.

Bodo beat Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan on their way to the round of 16 and Viking are just one point behind them in this term's Eliteserien title race.

Team news

Dinamo defender Matteo Perez Vinlof returned to the squad for Friday's 4-0 league win over Rudes, while midfielder Luca Stojkovic (adductor) could also feature on Tuesday.

Viking centre-back Anders Baertelesen is sidelined by a broken foot, so Cardiff City loanee Jesper Daland should come into the back four.

The stats

Dinamo Zagreb have won three of their last four matches to nil.

Josip Misic has contributed one goal and two assists in four Champions League outings for Dinamo, while striker Dion Beljo has scored 23 goals in his last 15 league appearances for the Zagreb outfit.

Four of Viking's last five Eliteserien wins were by a 2-1 scoreline.

Viking have lost all seven of their previous Champions League games.

Viking midfielder Kristoffer Askildsen has picked up six yellow cards in 16 league starts this season.

Prediction

Dinamo rode their luck against Thun in their first Champions League qualifying tie, but they have sharpened up significantly since then.

They have won their last four matches, including a 5-0 first-leg rout of Kauno Zalgiris and they are worthy favourites to beat Viking on Tuesday.

Backing Dinamo to win and both teams to score looks the best bet as the hosts have a formidable attacking unit, led by prolific striker Dion Beljo.

The 24-year-old had a brilliant end to the 2025-26 season and has scored four goals in his two league appearances this term.

Beljo's braces helped Dinamo beat Slaven 2-0 and Rudes 4-0, although they have kept only one clean sheet in four Champions League qualifying ties.

Viking, champions of Norway in 2025, made a blistering start to their title defence in the spring.

They won nine of their first 10 matches which included eye-catching home victories over Molde (4-1), Bodo/Glimt (5-0) and Start (6-3).

However, their Eliteserien charge was interrupted by the break for the summer World Cup and they lost 2-1 at Rosenborg on Friday.

Viking's only clean sheet in their last nine league games came in a 3-0 win at bottom club Start and they look set for a high-scoring first-leg loss in Croatia.

Score prediction: Dinamo Zagreb 3-1 Viking
