Head coach Cesc Fabregas continues to do a stellar job at Como, guiding them from Serie B to the Champions League in three seasons, and getting through the League Phase is an achievable goal.
Como have strengthened this summer, adding the likes of Trevoh Chalobah and Alvaro Morata, but whether they have a deep enough squad to reach the latter stages is another question.

Europa League champions Aston Villa have lost key first-team players this summer and how far they can go in this competition rests on whether they can bring in quality replacements.
Unai Emery is a wily tactician and knows how to negotiate European fixtures, which should ensure the Villans make it through the League Phase, but further progress may be difficult if the squad is not strengthened.

14. Manchester United
Back in the Champions League for the first time since 2023-24, Manchester United lost their Premier League opener 2-0 against Hull and the Red Devils still have a lot of transfer work to do before the summer window closes.
Michael Carrick needs another central midfielder and a forward at least, while a couple of additions at the back would not go amiss for a defence that was poor against the Tigers.
While qualification from the League Phase is expected, a deep run in Europe looks like a tough ask for the two-time Champions League winners.

RB Leipzig have a strong squad to choose from this season, with the recent addition of Christopher Nkunku bolstering an attack that already included Antonio Nusa.
The Bundesliga outfit suffered seven defeats in their last Champions League showing in 2024-25, as they failed to advance from the League Phase, but an improved effort is expected this time.

Roma are appearing in the Champions League for the first time since 2018-19 and they started this season off in red-hot fashion, thrashing Fiorentina 4-0.
The Giallorossi will be a tough nut to crack at the Stadio Olimpico, but whether they have the strength in depth to overcome the bigger clubs away from home remains to be seen.

Serie A winners in two of the last four seasons, Napoli are a quality outfit and they will be led into battle by new head coach Massimiliano Allegri this term.
Boasting the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund, there is plenty of depth to the squad and a deep run could be on the cards.

10. Liverpool
Six-time European champions Liverpool will harbour ambitions of a first Champions League title since 2019, but they need improvement if they want to compete.
The Reds look fragile at the back and weak in midfield an, although their attack can see them past lower-level opposition, they may struggle when coming up against the bigger European clubs.

9. Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund remain one of the most entertaining teams to watch and they boast plenty of talent, with Fabio Silva, Felix Nmecha, Serhou Guirassy and Carney Chukwuemeka all on their books.
Bundesliga runners-up in five of the last eight seasons, Dortmund have struggled to overthrow Bayern Munich on the domestic scene, but Europe is a different proposition and BVB will fancy their chances of enjoying a solid run.

8. Atletico Madrid
With the final being played at the Metropolitano, Atletico Madrid have an added incentive to reach the showpiece event on home soil.
A possible exit for Julian Alvarez would hurt Atleti's chances, although they would have a good amount of money to find a replacement and they are a well-drilled side under Diego Simeone and are a tough nut to crack.

7. Inter Milan
Runners-up in 2023 and 2025, Inter Milan are not a team to take lightly and they have made some solid acquisitions this summer, bringing in John Stones, Djed Spence and Curtis Jones among others.
The Nerazzurri romped to the Serie A title last season by 11 points and a better showing is expected in Europe after they were defeated by Bodo/Glimt in the knockout phase in 2025-26.

6. Manchester City
Manchester City are still a strong outfit but there are questions over how they will perform under new manager Enzo Maresca, who has the big job of filling Pep Guardiola's shoes.
With Erling Haaland leading the line, the Citizens are always going to be a dangerous team to face, but there is a lot of pressure on Elliot Anderson to fill the void left by Rodri in midfield.

Prolific in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich have reached the semi-finals in two of the last three editions and they will be hoping to at least reach the final this time around.
Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz provide a constant source of goals and assists for the Bavarians, who also boast plenty of experience in defence with the likes of Jonathan Tah, Kim Min-jae, Joshua Kimmich and Dayot Upamecano.

3. Barcelona
Barcelona have made some notable additions this summer, bringing in Rodri, Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon, and the Catalans will be intent on reaching their first final since winning the tournament in 2015.
Defence has been an issue for Hansi Flick's side, but the arrival of midfield anchor Rodri brings an extra layer of protection in front of the backline and the Spaniard could be the missing piece of the puzzle for Barca.

Two-time defending champions Paris Saint-Germain show no signs of slowing down and a three-peat, which has been achieved by only Real Madrid in the Champions League era, could be on the cards.
Luis Enrique's side boasts a plethora of attacking quality and it will take a big effort from one of their 35 rivals to force Les Parisiens to relinquish their grip on the trophy.
