Spectacular transfer twist! Borussia Dortmund find a replacement for Giannis Konstantelias

Borussia Dortmund, who are looking for a replacement for the injured Giannis Konstantelias, have apparently found one at Arsenal and are signing Ethan Nwaneri on loan.

Borussia Dortmund have responded to the serious injury suffered by new signing Giannis Konstantelias and are on the verge of signing Ethan Nwaneri from Arsenal. This is reported, among others, by transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

There is already a verbal agreement, with the 19-year-old said to have chosen a move to BVB on the night before Tuesday's deadline day. Dortmund are set to sign Nwaneri on loan for one season and are also expected to cover his full salary.

The Black and Yellows have therefore found the alternative they were looking for to Konstantelias, who suffered a torn cruciate ligament in his left knee in the 2-0 win in their Bundesliga opener against Hamburger SV and will therefore be out for six months.

BVB were apparently also after top talent from Poland and Nick Woltemade

On Monday, the Polish portal Meczyki also reported that BVB had reached an agreement with Marcel Regula of Polish top-flight club Zaglebie Lubin.

Dortmund have probably had the Poland Under-21 international in their sights for some time and are said to have already watched him in person. Regula recently turned down a move to English second-tier club Burnley, according to Meczyki, while Feyenoord Rotterdam have also shown an interest alongside BVB. The fee for the youngster is understood to be below €10 million.

Whether Dortmund could theoretically bring in both Regula and Nwaneri in a double deal to Signal Iduna Park remains open.

As well as Nwaneri and Regula, BVB are also said to have made an enquiry with Newcastle United about Nick Woltemade in their search for a replacement for Konstantelias. But the Germany international is reportedly set for a loan move to Juventus.
