Similar to Lennart Karl: Bayern have another sensational gem ready to tear it up this season
Bayern fans have been urged to keep a close eye on Tim Binder’s development this season.
The Bavarian giants secured the long-term future of the teenage talent with a contract running until 2030.
Perhaps the greatest show of confidence in his abilities came with the decision to send Arijon Ibrahimovic out on loan.
Could Tim Binder be the next Lennart Karl?
FC Bayern have proven to be incredibly resourceful when it comes to plugging gaps in the squad with their Campus talents.
The failure to sign Florian Wirtz last summer – with the Germany international instead snapped up by Liverpool – turned into a victory for their youth development, with Lennart Karl fast-tracked to the first-team.
And now it seems they have a new shining star to boast of in Binder (19), with the teenager having impressed Vincent Kompany and Co. in pre-season.
However, comparisons to Karl should perhaps be tempered, with the two players differing significantly in how they contribute in the final third.
“Really do keep an eye on Binder. I see many similarities to Lennart Karl. He’s sadly injured at the moment, so I hope he’s back in the next week or two weeks,” Christian Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.
“The teenager has similar skills to Karl. He’s not completely the same player; Karl will go in the box and score himself, whereas Binder likes to go to the line and play the ball in for assists. He’s also a real threat in one-on-one situations.
“I think he could be a real jewel for the season! I hope the footballer stays fit, then he’ll get playing time and perhaps we’ll have the next Lennart Karl on our hands.”
The winger is currently recovering from a muscle injury picked up in August.
Binder could help out Bayern with long-term Michael Olise worry
Bayern fans won’t want to contemplate life with Michael Olise, but with less than three years on his deal, there is a worry. That’s particularly in light of the fact that the club won’t want to risk his value plummeting by allowing his contract to run down another year beyond the current season.

Now, no one in the right frame of mind would seriously suggest that Binder could a successor for the Frenchman in a year’s time – and we’re still of the mind that Olise will be a Bayern player in 2027/28.
However, Tim Binder’s potential breakthrough campaign this year could offer greater security on the right flank long-term. Not to mention, we’d hope learning under our No.17 this season would be extremely educational for the teenager.
We’d still expect Bayern to put their money where their mouth is to sign a successor, should the need arise next summer.
And in the meantime, it’s nice to know that the Campus is continuing to churn out really promising young talents Bayern could look to rely upon in the long term.
