Reports: Pavlovic to miss Germany-Serbia as doubts about condition persist
Strahinja Pavlovic has been listed as unavailable for Serbia’s game against Germany that will take place this evening.
Following reports of Pavlovic suffering a muscle strain against Greece, the Serbian coach announced today at a press conference that Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will not be included in the squad for the match against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Doubts about Pavlovic persist
Several Serbian sources (via MilanVibes) are also reporting that the Milan defender is unlikely to be included in the team. Following defeats in the first two matches against the Netherlands and Greece, the squad will be thinned out and several players not at their best physically will rest.
These players will be managed and allocated according to their condition, without risking any of them worsening their condition. Pavlovic will try to return and be available for the last match: the trip to the Netherlands to face off against Xavi’s side.
Ruben Amorim’s hope remains to have Pavlovic in top form ahead of the October 11 match against Sassuolo in Reggio Emilia, when the Rossoneri will face a rather dangerous side coached by Alberto Aquilani, who has already beaten Juventus.
There has never been any concern from the Rossoneri about his starting role in that match, but the Serbian staff’s management of the player will be crucial. After tomorrow’s rest period, they will further evaluate his condition and recovery ahead of Sunday evening’s match.
