Mourinho has decided his player's fate

Real Madrid have kept one of their players in the Spanish capital for the final stretch of pre-season. He continues to work under a special programme designed to prevent injuries and get him to peak fitness before the new campaign.

The Brazilian forward had suffered a hamstring injury that kept him out for a long spell. Real Madrid are handling his return to training carefully after his involvement with the Selecao at the 2026 World Cup, and with training loads ramping up in the closing weeks of pre-season.

His future sparked plenty of talk this summer, with some clubs keen to sign him on loan. Real Madrid settled the matter by keeping the Brazilian at the request of head coach Jose Mourinho, while pressing on with the work to get him physically ready.
