Olise hat-trick leads Bayern Munich to seven-goal thrashing of Union Berlin
Bayern Munich tore Union Berlin apart 7-0 at the Allianz Arena on Friday evening in the fourth round of the German league.
The rout lifted the Bavarian giants to the top of the Bundesliga, at least temporarily, on 10 points. For Union Berlin, the crisis deepened. They remain stuck on a single point in sixteenth place.
Jamal Musiala got the party started in the 18th minute, drilling a powerful strike from the edge of the box into the net. Michael Olise then won a penalty in the 38th minute after Roth brought him down, and England's Harry Kane sent the goalkeeper the wrong way with a powerful strike to the left, notching his 100th goal in the Bundesliga.
Two minutes before the break, Olise made it three with a fine effort from the edge of the box that curled into the narrow angle.
The dominance never let up after the restart. Olise whipped in a well-crafted cross from the right in the 54th minute and Kane powered a header into the net for the fourth.
Al-Sibari made it five in the 70th minute. Collecting a pass from Alphonso Davies, he toyed with the Union Berlin defence, went one-on-one with the goalkeeper and finished brilliantly. It was his first goal in a Bayern shirt in his seventh appearance across all competitions this season since his summer move to the German side.
France's Olise capped a sweeping attacking display with the sixth in the 73rd minute, latching onto a lofted through ball, rounding the goalkeeper and watching the ball nestle in off the post.
Olise wanted his hat-trick, and he got it. A rocket from outside the box beat the goalkeeper in the 76th minute for Bayern's seventh, sealing a crushing 7-0 win.
