Havertz to be assessed after going off injured for Germany

Arsenal forward Kai Havertz was forced off injured for Germany in their 1-1 draw with the Netherlands.

The striker started the game but was taken off after half an hour following a heavy challenge from Quinten Timber a few minutes prior.

Germany boss Jurgen Klopp says the Gunners star will be assessed and could return to Arsenal earlier than planned as a result of the injury concern.

Havertz was already set for an earlier return to Arsenal, having only been included in the Germany squad for the first half of the international break, after Klopp took the unusual step of naming two separate squads.

Havertz has been a key player for Arsenal this season, playing seven times in all competitions and scoring three goals.
