Emergency doctor on the pitch, stunned silence in the arena: Jamal Musiala causes a scare in Bayern Munich's win against RB Leipzig

Bayern Munich win their penultimate friendly before the upcoming season, but three injury-enforced substitutions leave a sour taste.

The Allianz Arena fell silent in the 84th minute on Saturday afternoon. Jamal Musiala went down in the opposition half and several team-mates immediately rushed over in panic to the Germany international, who was carrying an injury.

Referee Robert Hartmann stopped the game and the emergency doctor sprinted straight onto the pitch. Then came slight relief. After a brief look at Musiala, the doctor withdrew, and seconds later the 23-year-old was able to leave the pitch under his own steam, although he was unsteady on his feet and looked shaken.

Earlier, Musiala had made it 3-1 for Bayern in the Telekom Cup against Leipzig after new signing Ismael Saibari set him up. Luis Diaz and Nathaniel Brown, also signed this summer, got the German record champions' other goals. Brajan Gruda had equalised in between for the visitors from Saxony.

Musiala was not the only Bayern player forced off through injury concern. Min-jae Kim could not continue after just over an hour because of thigh problems.

Earlier in the match, Konrad Laimer had already caused concern for everyone connected with Bayern. The Austria international was apparently unable to continue after a challenge because he was in severe pain in his right leg, in the area of the thigh or knee.

Next up for Bayern is their final friendly, against second-tier side 1. FC Heidenheim next Tuesday, before they face Borussia Dortmund the following Saturday in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup.
