Eberl: Bayern Munich star unable to walk
A worrying early injury before the start of the season
Konrad Laimer limped out of Bayern Munich's friendly against Leipzig on Saturday, the Austria international picking up an early knock that left him unable to continue.
Max Eberl, Bayern's board member for sporting affairs, explained the injury to German newspaper "Bild": "Konny (Laimer) took a knock relatively early, and his foot quickly swelled. So he came off as a precaution."

"It was so clear that he could no longer walk, and he needed someone to help him," Eberl added. "You saw it, he wasn't moving normally."
How long the Austrian will be sidelined remains unclear. "I really can't say today how long it will take," the Bavarian club's sporting director said.
The timing stings. Bayern open their official campaign against Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup on 22 August, and they could be without Laimer.
