Bayern Munich star receives big praise from Zinedine Zidane
It has been a disappointing international break for the German players of Bayern Munich until now. Results and performance have not been up to the mark, but it is a game of patience for the DFB since this is the first international break under new head coach Jürgen Klopp.
Meanwhile, Bayern’s French players are continuing the good run of form during this international break. France managed to clinch a narrow 1-0 win against Belgium on Monday. Bayern’s Michael Olise came off the bench to score the winner for France.
Zinedine Zidane wanted to rotate the team and give other players opportunities, which meant Dayot Upamecano and Michael Olise started on the bench against Belgium. Upamecano was an unused substitute since the other center-backs were doing a fine job for France. However, Olise had to come on in the second half as France were looking for the winner.
Olise made an immediate impact after coming on in the 77th minute. The French winger picked up the ball on the right flank and carried it past defenders until the edge of the box. Olise showed great presence of mind to curl the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0 in the 88th minute and win the game for Les Bleus.
In the post-match interview with TeleFoot (via iMiaSanMia), France head coach Zinedine Zidane admitted that Olise is a special talent who is always looking to entertain fans and provide his team the necessary edge in the final third.

Olise had also provided an assist in France’s 1-0 win against Turkey last week. The French winger has grabbed nine assists for France this year. He had a brilliant World Cup, where his contributions helped the French national team reach the quarter-final stage.
Olise is enjoying a prolific start to the season
When there is discussion about the playing style of Olise, it is largely dominated by creativity, assists, and chances created. The French forward also works hard out of possession to give Bayern and France solidity on the right flank.
However, the start of the 2026/27 campaign for Olise has been largely dominated by his scoring exploits. He has already scored 8 goals for Bayern across all competitions. Olise is currently averaging a goal/assist every 50 minutes for club and country this season.
Bayern fans will hope that Die Roten can extend Olise’s contract as soon as possible. The French forward has three years left on his contract, but he was heavily linked with Real Madrid last summer. If he continues to shine this season, Los Blancos will come calling next summer. Bayern cannot afford to lose a top player like Olise to one of their European rivals.
