With a hard-line measure, Bayern Munich have sent a clear signal to a sale candidate. Lennart Karl, meanwhile, is on the verge of a comeback. News and rumours surrounding FCB.

Bayern Munich, news: Clear signal to sale candidate Sacha Boey

Sacha Boey was left out of Bayern Munich's squad for the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, unlike in the recent friendlies against RB Leipzig and 1. FC Heidenheim. According to a report by Bild, Bayern took that step as a clear signal to the right-back, underlining once again that he has no part in the German record champions' plans. The hope was also that Boey and his advisers would step up their search for a transfer.

Around the 2-1 title-winning victory against Borussia Dortmund, board member for sport Max Eberl again stressed that neither Boey nor Joao Palhinha or Bryan Zaragoza have a future in Munich. "We communicated clearly with the three lads from the beginning - and when you have a game like this, you take the players you plan to use for the whole season," he said, also sending a clear message to the Frenchman. At the same time, coach Vincent Kompany had enough options at full-back in Konrad Laimer, Josip Stansic, Alphonso Davies and Nathaniel Brown, who was deployed as a No 10.

Unlike Palhinha and Zaragoza, though, no move for Boey had taken shape until very recently. Bayern are not believed to have any current enquiries from potential buyers. Above all, the wages the 25-year-old earns at Bayern are said to be a problem. Palhinha, meanwhile, is on the verge of signing for Benfica Lisbon, while Zaragoza is said to have given the green light for a loan deal with Espanyol Barcelona.

Boey returned to Säbener Strasse this summer after his loan spell with former club Galatasaray Istanbul. As Bild recently reported, the top Turkish club had in principle been ready to trigger the previously agreed purchase option of between €10 million and €15 million. Because of the regulations, however, the club only had one free place left for a foreign player. Since that was intended for another position, Gala ultimately decided against a signing.

Boey joined Bayern from Galatasaray in January 2024 for around €30 million but never managed to establish himself in Munich. In 38 competitive appearances, he scored one goal and set up six more. His contract runs until 2028. Whether the Munich club would also accept another loan deal remains open.

Bayern Munich, rumour: Lennart Karl set for comeback against VfB Stuttgart

After his muscle bundle tear, Lennart Karl is apparently close to making his comeback for Bayern Munich. Bild and kicker both report that.

According to those reports, the injury the 18-year-old suffered while preparing with the Germany national team for the World Cup has completely healed. He is therefore due to return to team training this week and has a good chance of being included in the squad for Friday's Bundesliga opener against VfB Stuttgart.

That also applies to Jamal Musiala, who missed the Supercup against Borussia Dortmund after news of his illness emerged. The 23-year-old collapsed in each of the friendlies against RB Leipzig and 1. FC Heidenheim. He suffers from absence seizures as a result of a neurological dysfunction, which corresponds to a mild form of epilepsy.

For Serge Gnabry, though, any return would still come too soon, as he is still struggling with the effects of his torn adductor during the run-in of last season. A return to team training is only expected towards the end of this week or in the following week.

Bayern Munich, news: Bayern talent Tim Binder ruled out with injury

Bayern Munich will be without youth player Tim Binder for the start of the Bundesliga season.

The 19-year-old midfielder suffered a muscle fibre tear in the back of his right thigh, Bayern announced on Sunday. He will be out "for the time being".

The Germany U19 international was not in the squad for Saturday's Supercup at Borussia Dortmund (2-1). But he featured regularly in pre-season and had a chance of making his first competitive appearances for the senior side. He usually plays for the second team.
