Bayern Munich consider leaving door ajar for Real Madrid to sign Michael Olise in 2027
Despite signing Yan Diomande, it cannot be ruled out that Real Madrid will look to go again for Michaeo Olise in the coming years. Club bosses wanted the Bayern Munich man before pivoting to Diomande, although the two could ultimately end up as teammates.
Bayern made it clear that they would not consider any offers for Olise during the recent summer transfer window, and in order to project their relationship with the Bundesliga giants, Real Madrid chose not to make a move. But they could do so in the future, especially if the door is opened in Bavaria.
According to Christian Falk, Bayern would consider adding a release clause into Olise’s new contract, which they hoped to have agreed with the French winger in the coming months.
“There were times at Bayern Munich when they were very proud that there was no release clause attached to any contract. But last year, there were more than a few and it’s now the way of things in Munich. Jamal Musiala – who we hope is getting better soon – has a release clause in his contract. So this could be an idea for Michael Olise if he signs a new contract.
“However, I can say that any release clause that may be attached to the winger’s contract will be very, very high. If any club chooses to activate this, Bayern will have a lot of money on the table to put towards a successor. At the moment, he has a contract that isn’t as lucrative as the likes of Harry Kane’s or Jamal Musiala’s. So this is also a good argument for Bayern Munich to try and persuade the player to stay. Either way, I think Bayern Munich would be fine with a release clause as long as we’re discussing figures like €150m, €200m, or €250m.”
Do Real Madrid need Olise?
There is definitely an argument to say that Real Madrid no longer need Olise now that Diomande has joined, and also considering they have Arda Guler, Brahim Diaz and Franco Mastantuono, who will return from his loan at Fiorentina next summer, as options for the right side of attack. However, that is unlikely to stop them making a move, as it would be one more piece towards building the best squad in Europe.
