An official statement settles the controversy

Jamal Musiala suddenly collapsed during Bayern Munich's friendly against Leipzig on Saturday, a match both sides used to prepare for the new 2026-2027 season. The sight sparked immediate concern. Max Eberl, the Bavarian club's sporting director, later provided an update on the player's condition.

Bayern beat Leipzig 3-1 in the Telekom Cup, but the game turned worrying in the 83rd minute. Musiala went down on the pitch with no clear contact. Players from both teams rushed to call for help as an emergency doctor came on amid a hushed crowd and began treating the 23-year-old.

Moments later, the doctor signalled that all was well. Musiala then walked off appearing dazed and dizzy.

Eberl spoke to "Bild" after the match: "He is fine, and that is the most important thing." The words eased fears about a player who looked affected by the searing heat, with temperatures hitting 33 degrees Celsius in Munich.

According to "Sport 1", Musiala suffered dizziness and circulatory problems brought on by the heat. Bayern's doctors carried out initial examinations that revealed no worrying indications.

The player will rest over the next two days to recover. The club will monitor his condition before setting a date for his return to training.
