England will look to take a series lead in Manchester

England will look to build on their tidy bowling effort when they welcome India to the Old Trafford cricket ground, Manchester, on 4th July.

India notched 189/7 thanks to Abhishek Sharma's blistering 24-ball 59 and skipper Shreyas Iyer recording his first half-century as the T20I skipper.

Saqib Mahmood returned to England colors with a fantastic 3-33 spell, trapping Sanju Samson early on and then applying the brakes just as Iyer and Tilak Verma looked to up the ante.

Persistent rain through the first innings, followed by heavier showers, meant that England couldn't wield the willow. They will fancy their chances on a boundary-hitting turf that offers considerable seam movement early on.

England's batting depth presents an advantage

While Iyer anchored the innings at a shade under 145, it was Shivam Dube's 42* that propelled India to an above par total.

Tilak Verma's run-a-ball 13 raised concerns once again. It's not the first time the southpaw has struggled to spike the tempo in the middle overs. His challenges against spin are well-documented, and his overall strike rate reads 110.2 in the last four T20Is.

Axar Patel's decline in batting form surfaced during the IPL as well, and while England have Will Jacks at seven, the visitors sent Harshit Rana to apply the finishing touches in the previous game, marking a stark contrast in batting pedigree.

Harry Brook's side have the license to take the attack to India, given that the accomplished Liam Dawson is slated to come in a six-down.

Considerations for bowling roster

India fielded three spinners at Chester-Le-Street, but could call upon Prince Yadav in place of Ravi Bishnoi in Manchester.

Meanwhile, the two-time T20 world champions may have a call to take with Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue, both of who were rested in the first match. Mahmood's brilliant performance makes it a difficult call, and Sam Curran's left-arm versatility offers England the chance to substitute Archer for Luke Wood.

It would indefinitely make them stronger with the new ball, injecting zip and pace into their potent bowling attack.

Total Runs - Home Team, Over 1: Over 7.5

No player has scored quicker runs in T20Is for England than Phil Salt. Renowned for his fast starts and ability to strike a moving ball early on, the opener will look to attack Arshdeep Singh early on.

Not to mention, Buttler strikes at an impressive 168 against Arshdeep, making for an enticing contest first up.

Recommended Bet: Total Runs - Home Team, Over 1: Over 7.5

Player's Total Runs - Over 26.5 (Ishan Kishan)

Having eclipsed his compatriot Abhishek not so long ago, Ishan Kishan is now at the summit of the T20 World rankings for batters.

His rise over the past 12 months has been nothing short of phenomenal. From winning the domestic Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy in India as captain to a mammoth World Cup, where he amassed 317 runs at nearly 200, the 27-year-old is now the team's mainstay at number three, under Gautam Gambhir.

He has been run out on a couple of occasions of late, but that shouldn't affect his touch with the bat. Expect him to resume normal service in the 2nd T20I.

Recommended Bet: Player's Total Runs - Over 26.5 (Ishan Kishan)
