WSL transfer tracker: All the confirmed major deals

Women's Super League clubs splashed the cash ahead of what is expected to be another thrilling campaign.

Chelsea secured a fourth successive title last season but Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City will all be intent on wresting that crown from them.

Laia Codina joined Arsenal from Barcelona, where she made 32 appearances and won seven trophies — including two Champions Leagues.

The centre-back, 23, was also part of Spain's 2023 Women's World Cup-winning squad, starting all four of La Roja's knockout matches and scoring in the last-16 victory over Switzerland.

Codina said: "I'm really excited, I can't wait to start with the team and to be a Gunner."

Arsenal's business went down to the wire but they were able to poach Aussie ace Kyra Cooney-Cross before the window slammed shut.

Cooney-Cross, 21, said: "I'm so excited to join this club. Arsenal just felt right as soon as I heard about the interest."

Arsenal's first signing of the summer was Swedish centre-back Amanda Ilestedt, who reunited with boss Jonas Eidevall following their spell at Rosengard.

Ilestedt, 30, joined on a free from Paris Saint-Germain to replace the departed Rafaelle Souza.

The Gunners strengthened their forward options with the acquisition of Canadian attacker Cloe Lacasse.

Lacasse, 30, arrived in North London following a four-year spell in Portugal with Benfica.

Arsenal sealed their most eye-catching capture with a swoop for Alessia Russo from WSL rivals Manchester United.

The Gunners landed the England star, 24, on a free after United turned down a reported world-record bid for the Euro 2022 winner in January.

Aston Villa acted quickly to replace an outgoing star, with Dutch goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar arriving to fill England stopper Hannah Hampton's spot between the sticks.

Carla Ward will hope the former FC Twente keeper can aid the Villans in their efforts to gatecrash the top four.

Villa dipped back into the market to sign Kirsty Hanson on a permanent basis after a successul loan from United last season.  

Scottish winger Hanson, 25, weighed in with eight goals in 28 appearances in all competitions in 2022-23. 

Villa also clinched the signing of winger Adriana Leon from the Red Devils.

The Canadian Olympic gold medallist bolstered Ward's frontline after penning a two-year deal.

Villa's boss said: "Adriana is someone we've monitored over the last 18 months and has displayed great pedigree in the WSL."

England international Ebony Salmon rejoined Aston Villa from Houston Dash.

The forward, 22, signed a three-year contract with the Villans.

Brighton's men's team have a reputation for securing eye-catching signings and their women's side look to have followed suit.

The Seagulls, who finished second-bottom in the WSL last term, acquired former Manchester City forward Pauline Bremer from Women's Champions League runners-up Wolfsburg.

Colombia international Jorelyn Carabali joined Brighton from Atletico Mineiro on undisclosed terms.

The 26-year-old represented her country at this year's World Cup, playing in all five games as the South Americans reached the quarter-finals before being knocked out by England.

The South Coast club added another experienced star by capturing former Barcelona captain Vicky Losada.

Losada, 32, signed on a long-term deal from Roma and has previously played in the WSL with Arsenal and Manchester City.

The Seagulls added experience to their midfield by signing Tatiana Pinto from Levante.

The 100-cap Portugal international, 29, has previous WSL experience with Bristol City and should slot in seamlessly.

Brighton continued their summer transfer business by recruiting United defender Maria Thorisdottir.

The Norway international has also spent time with Chelsea during a glittering career.

Carrie Jones is relishing the start of the season after trading United for Bristol City.

The attacker, 20, said: "I'm really happy to be here and I can't wait to get started.

"It's exciting to be part of a team that's newly promoted, so it's a privilege to have signed."

Danish striker Amalie Thestrup was snapped up as the newcomers prepared for life in the top flight. 

Thestrup, 28, joined West Ham on loan in January 2023 and is delighted to be back in the WSL after leaving PSV Eindhoven. 

She said: "It feels amazing to have signed for Bristol City and I'm extremely excited to get started."

Chelsea turned one eye to the future with the capture of teenage Bristol City defender Brooke Aspin.

Aspin, 18, penned a four-year deal with the champions but will remain with the newly-promoted Robins on loan for the 2023-24 campaign to continue her development.

Mia Fishel is ready to live out her dreams after joining the Blues from Mexican side Tigres.

The American forward, 22, cannot wait to continue her career under the watchful eye of Emma Hayes after signing a three-year deal.

She said: "I'm super excited, it's a dream come true and everything I've worked for since I was a kid until now."

The Blues added England goalkeeper Hampton to their ranks following her departure from Villa.

The stopper, 22, signed a three-year deal at Kingsmeadow before jetting off to the World Cup with the Lionesses.

Another Canadian headed for English shores when Chelsea made Ashley Lawrence their fifth summer signing.

The forward, 28, joined on July 1 ahead of representing her country at the World Cup.

Replacing Danish superstar Pernille Harder was high on Hayes' list and the Blues swooped for Lyon ace Catarina Macario to fill the void. 

The United States forward, 23, will bolster the Blues' frontline as they look to retain the title. 

Chelsea continued to strengthen following their domestic double by adding highly-rated youngster Sjoeke Nusken.

The German midfielder, 22, made the switch to Kingsmeadow from Frauen-Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.

Danish starlet Karoline Olesen is relishing the opportunity to establish herself with Everton. 

The Toffees handed Olesen, 18, a two-year deal after paying Fortuna Hjorring an undisclosed fee. 

Olesen said: "It's very exciting to be here. I'm very happy to start my journey as an Everton player."

Emily Ramsey set her sights on helping Everton close the gap on the WSL's big four after joining on a free.

Upon signing a three-year deal with the Toffees, the former United keeper said: "I feel we're pushing up towards the top teams now. 

"I'm hoping for a successful season, to build and go from strength to strength."

Leicester snapped up Lize Kop from Ajax on a three-year deal. 

The Dutch goalkeeper, 25. has represented her country seven times and brings Champions League experience to Willie Kirk’s squad. 

She said: "I wanted to have new experiences within my career and I feel like this move came at the right time."

Liverpool picked up Scottish international defender Jenna Clark from Glasgow City.

Clark, 21, said: "I wasn't letting my hopes get too high but once it became more real, I was just buzzing. 

"It's something I'll never take for granted, getting this opportunity."

Mia Enderby is raring to go with Liverpool — much to the delight of boss Matt Beard.

The England youth star, 18, netted nine goals for Women's Championship side Sheffield United last season. 

And Beard said: "Mia is a very, very exciting young talent."

Rising Norway star Sophie Roman Haug joined Liverpool from Roma.

The forward, 24, bolstered her CV with a World Cup hat-trick against the Philippines.

Manchester City's first business of the summer was to seal a move for Wolfsburg's Dutch midfielder Jill Roord.

Euro 2017 winner Roord, 26, played in last season's Champions League final defeat to Barcelona and spent two seasons at WSL rivals Arsenal between 2019 and 2021.

Wales international Gemma Evans joined United from Reading.

Centre-back Evans will link up with international defensive partner Hayley Ladd for Marc Skinner's side.

Gabby George was one of three additions to Skinner's squad on deadline day.

The England international defender said: "As a massive Manchester United fan, I'm buzzing to be here. This club means a lot to me and my family, and it's where we want to be."

Manchester United signed talented Brazilian forward Geyse from Barcelona on a permanent deal.

The 25-year-old helped the Catalan side win the Champions League last season.

She said: "Signing for United has been a very special day for me and my family. I am very grateful for this opportunity and thank everyone for making it happen."

United also swooped for Spanish World Cup winner Irene Guerrero.

Upon arriving from Atletico Madrid, Guerrero said: "I feel very happy and very privileged to be here.

"I am very proud to be part of the Manchester United family and look forward to achieving all our goals together."

Four-time Champions League winner Melvine Malard joined United on a season-long loan from Lyon.

The 23-year-old forward has scored six goals in 21 appearances for France.

Malard said: "I am truly very happy to be here, and to join this club and this city. I cannot wait to meet the fans and get started."

World Cup Golden Boot winner Hinata Miyazawa was another fine addition to Skinner's squad. 

The Japan ace, 23, netted five times Down Under as her country went on a memorable run before falling to Sweden in the quarter-finals.

Miyazawa said: "I am truly very happy to be part of this wonderful family and this great team. I am really looking forward to getting started and hope my style of play will excite our fans."

The Red Devils snapped up American keeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce from National Women's Soccer League outfit OL Reign to challenge Mary Earps for the No1 jersey.

Tullis-Joyce, 26, said: "Today has been pure excitement for me. Manchester United is such a historic club, that has already done so much in the women's game. I'm so honoured to get this opportunity."

Tottenham signed Martha Thomas from United on a two-year contract.

She scored eight goals in 53 appearances for the Red Devils and and was an FA Cup finalist last season.

West Ham signed Japanese World Cup star Riko Ueki to bolster their attacking ranks.

The Hammers snapped up the forward, who scored twice Down Under, from Tokyo Verdy Beleza.
