Xabi Alonso Sets Three Transfer Demands as Liverpool Target Spaniard to Replace Arne Slot

Xabi Alonso has made his three transfer demands should he succeed Arne Slot as Liverpool head coach this summer, reports TEAMtalk.
Slot is under mounting pressure to save his job following a disastrous title defence.
The Dutchman guided the Reds to the Premier League title in his debut season at the Anfield helm but the Merseyside giants are now 21 points behind league leaders Arsenal heading into the final weeks of the campaign.
The former Feyenoord boss is expected to leave Anfield this summer with Alonso reportedly viewed as the ideal replacement for Slot.
Liverpool face competition for Alonso
Alonso has been out of work since leaving Real Madrid back in January following their Supercopa de Espana loss to rivals Barcelona.
The Spanish head coach has had offers to return to work, with French side Marseille notably turned down by Alonso as the Ligue 1 side sought to bring in a replacement for Roberto De Zerbi.
Liverpool wouldn’t be the only side interested in Alonso later this year and they’d allegedly face competition from Premier League rivals Manchester City in the race to appoint the former midfielder.
City boss Pep Guardiola is tipped to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer, with Alonso, former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca and Como head coach Cesc Fabregas all on the club’s wishlist.
Alonso's transfer demands revealed
Liverpool will hope to beat off City in the race to land Alonso, and could appease the Spaniard with the signings of three key targets.
The current Premier League champions are expected to bolster further at the back this summer, this despite the impending arrival of Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes, with Inter star Alessandro Bastoni reportedly wanted by the club.
In midfield, Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton has emerged as a potential target, however the England international is also wanted by Manchester United.
And in attack, PSG winger Bradley Barcola is viewed as a world class replacement for Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian another who is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.
Reds looking to overcome Galatasaray
Liverpool are in action on Wednesday night as they look to overcome their one-goal deficit in their Champions League round-of-16 second leg meeting with Galatasaray on home turf.
Mario Lemina’s first half strike was enough to separate the pair in Istanbul last week.
The winner of their last-16 showdown will face off against PSG after the French side obliterated Premier League side Chelsea, earning an 8-2 aggregate win over the Blues.
