Tottenham Transfer News: Roberto De Zerbi Targets Juventus Star Manuel Locatelli for Spurs

Roberto De Zerbi is keen to sign Juventus and Italy midfielder Manuel Locatelli for Tottenham this summer, according to Italian publication Calciomercato.
De Zerbi was named new Spurs boss earlier this week, succeeding Igor Tudor at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium helm.
The Italian’s priority is to keep the north London side in the Premier League with Spurs sat just one point above the relegation zone owing to a 13-game winless run.
Spurs kick off their push to beat the drop with a trip to Sunderland next weekend before De Zerbi’s first game in the capital later this month against former side Brighton.
Locatelli a potential Spurs target
And the ex-Marseille head coach is pushing for the club to sign Locatelli should he keep the 2025 Europa League winners in the Premier League.
Juventus would be reluctant to lose the midfielder, who has started 28 league matches for the Old Lady this season.
Locatelli has just two years left to run on his current Juventus deal, and could be available for a reduced fee.
De Zerbi will hope that the addition of Locatelli would bring some much-needed experience and leadership in a problematic position.
Spurs expected to strengthen in midfield
Spurs are expected to bolster in the middle of the park this summer with Joao Palhinha’s loan move unlikely to be made permanent.
Rodrigo Bentancur and Pape Sarr have flattered to deceive this season, while Lucas Bergvall has endured his fair share of injury concerns.
Some fans may want to see Spurs pursue a player of Adam Wharton’s calibre, but the England international has been linked with the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United.
