Michael Carrick will push to keep Marcus Rashford if he stays on as Manchester United boss beyond the end of the season, reports the Telegraph.
Rashford moved to Barcelona on loan last summer and the La Liga giants have an option to make the switch permanent for £26m at the end of the season.

Head coach Hansi Flick is keen for the club to activate the clause that would see Rashford remain at Spotify Camp Nou.
“Speed, finishing, control. He has amazing quality, really,” Flick has previously said of Rashford.
The England international has scored four times and laid on an additional six assists for the defending champions this season.
Carrick hopes to bring forward back to Old Trafford
However, while Rashford is enjoying life in Spain, Carrick, who played alongside the forward at United, will aim to bring the player back to Manchester if he is in charge next season.
Carrick was named as head coach for the remainder of the campaign earlier this month, succeeding Ruben Amorim in the Old Trafford dugout.
United are expected to make a decision on Amorim’s permanent replacement at the end of the season.
And Carrick has made an impressive start to life in his second spell at the United helm.
Carrick's bright start to life at United
The 44-year-old won his first game back in charge as United claimed a 2-0 win over rivals Manchester City.
United followed up that victory over the Cityzens with a 3-2 win at Arsenal as Matheus Cunha struck late on to secure a huge three points.
The Manchester giants will look to claim a third successive triumph when they host in-form Fulham at Old Trafford this afternoon.
A win for Fulham would see them move to within one point of United, who have dropped out of the top-four following Saturday’s league action.
