Man Utd Consider Stunning Move for Tottenham Star Micky van de Ven Amid Liverpool Interest

Manchester United are considering a stunning summer move to sign Tottenham defender Micky van de Van, according to TEAMtalk.
The Dutch centre-back has been a key player for Spurs since joining the north London side from German outfit Wolfsburg in 2023.
While he struggled due to injuries last season, Van de Ven was crucial at the back for Spurs as they ended their lengthy wait for a trophy, defeating United 1-0 in the Europa League final last May.
Van de Ven made a key clearance off the line in the narrow triumph in Bilbao to go some way to cementing his legacy for Tottenham.
Van de Ven considering Spurs future
However, with Spurs sat at the wrong end of the table, the Netherlands international is believed to be considering his future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs are desperate to tie Van de Ven down to a new long-term deal but the Dutchman is unwilling to extend his stay at the club at this time.
Liverpool and Real Madrid circling Dutchman
The 24-year-old’s potential availability has alerted powerhouse European pair Liverpool and Real Madrid with the duo expected to bolster at the back this summer.
The Reds view Van de Ven as a long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk at Anfield, while their Spanish counterparts are expected to lose both Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba once their respective contracts expire this summer.
And now United are considering a high-profile summer switch for Van de Ven as the Manchester giants weigh up their centre-back options.
Harry Maguire’s contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season and while the player is keen to extend his stay at the club, the former Leicester man is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.
United to rival pair for Spurs star
As such, United are pondering whether to challenge Liverpool and Real Madrid in the race to sign Van de Ven as they aim to bolster at the back ahead of their expected Champions League return.
United sit third heading into the midweek round of league matches following their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday as the club continued their flying form under Michael Carrick, who succeeded Ruben Amorim in the Old Trafford dugout in January.
And United will look to make it seven wins from their last eight when they make the trip to out-of-form Newcastle on Wednesday night.
