The Manchester United board have 'laughed off' suggestions that wide man Amad Diallo will be allowed to leave any time soon, reports TEAMtalk.

Amad has benefitted from Michael Carrick taking the reins at Old Trafford. Having been largely deployed as a wing-back during Ruben Amorim's time in charge, he's been allowed back up field under the interim boss.

TEAMtalk reports Amad has privately expressed happiness at playing under Carrick, feeling he's more naturally suited to playing in the final third.

The report also claims United have 'laughed off' suggestions that they could let the winger leave.

Indeed, he's said to be viewed as one of the most exciting attacking talents at the club, where there's an expectation they'll be building around him in the future.

The club are said to believe Amad has room to develop, and are convinced that multiple qualities he possesses can make him a key figure at the club in years to come.

Meanwhile, the report states that Jason Wilcox, United's Director of Football, played a key role in handing Amad a new contract, highlighting the club's commitment to the Ivorian international. That was seen as a major show of faith in him, and the club feel it's going to pay off down the line.

Amad has major self belief

Amad is yet to score or assist since being moved back up field by Carrick, but he has been used as a major part in the manager's plans, suggesting that if he's given the job permanently, he'll retain a prominent role.

The United winger made his self belief clear almost exactly a year ago, when he said: “I trust myself. I really believe I can become one of the best players in the world.”

While he's not shown that of late, United will return to the Champions League next season, after a couple of years out, and in the last campaign they played in it, Amad did not feature.

That means he's going to get his first taste of the elite European competition, and if he makes the most if it, he could certainly embed himself as one of the key players in a burgeoning United side.
