Man Utd Target Ibrahim Sangare as Casemiro Replacement Amid Summer Transfer Plans

Manchester United are believed to have been impressed by Nottingham Forest star Ibrahim Sangare as they eye up replacements for the outgoing Casemiro, reports GiveMeSport.
Casemiro will leave Old Trafford in the summer once his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Brazilian has re-established himself as a key man for the Manchester giants this term, starting 24 of their 27 league matches.
Midfield a key area for United
United were already expected to invest in the middle of the park in the off-season having failed to reinforce the midfield last summer.
The club pushed to sign Carlos Baleba from Brighton, but were put off by the Seagulls’ demands for the Cameroonian.
United are again being linked with a move for Baleba, while Premier League-based trio Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton and Sandro Tonali of Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Newcastle, respectively, are also targets for Michael Carrick’s side.
Anderson isn’t the only Forest midfielder who has reportedly caught United’s eye with Sangare emerging as a potential target for the 2024 FA Cup winners.
Sangare impressing for Forest
The Ivorian initially struggled to make an impact at the City Ground following his 2023 arrival from Dutch side PSV.
However, the 28-year-old has gone on to become a key man for the Tricky Trees having made 17 league starts for the Midlands side.
Sangare has started both games under Vitor Pereira since the Portuguese boss succeeded Sean Dyche, playing the full 90 in the Europa League over Fenerbahce last week and then Sunday’s late 1-0 loss to Liverpool.
And he is expected to keep his spot at the base of the midfield for Thursday’s welcome of Fenerbahce as Forest look to finalise their round-of-16 Europa League spot.
United maintain top-four push
United, meanwhile, boosted their top-four hopes with a 1-0 win at rivals Everton on Monday night.
Benjamin Sesko bagged the winner with 20 minutes to play, coming off the bench once more to net a decisive goal to maintain United’s Champions League pursuit.
