Man City eyeing return of Borussia Dortmund star Felix Nmecha five years after exit

Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing starring Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, five years after he left the Etihad for Germany.
There is a suggestion, reported by Sky Sport in Germany, that Nmecha could look for a new challenge in the summer.
The midfielder has plied his trade with Dortmund since 2023, when he joined from Wolfsburg, and has developed into one of the club's most impressive players of late.
He's already matched his best season in terms of goals (five) and assists (three) and Nmecha could have the opportunity to make a big move, after he'll surely add to those numbers before the end of the campaign.
The report details how City and manager Pep Guardiola have had Nmecha on their radar for some time, and have already made contact with his representatives.
Prior to his time in Germany, Nmecha was on the books at City, and it's said the connection to the club is 'strong' and he'd be open to a return.
Indeed, Nmecha was a star in City's youth system, scoring 11 goals and assisting seven more for their under-18s, before moving on to the under-23s, where he scored 15 goals and assisted five more.
It is reported that the list of clubs wanting to prise the former Citizen away from Dortmund is growing, and the German club are therefore hoping to extend his contract. Initial talks with his representatives over a new deal have reportedly begun.
It is stated that the club are willing to make salary adjustments to keep Nmecha at the club, surely aware that financial powerhouse City would be able to pay him very good money.
Manchester rivals United are also said to have Nmecha in their sights, and it's believed that for either side to win the race for Nmecha, £61million would need to be paid to Dortmund.
Whether either side is willing to go to that length to confirm the transfer remains to be seen, but should Nmecha continue to star through the back end of the season, there will surely be more sides lining up to take him on board.
