Premier League duo Liverpool and Manchester United have joined the ever-growing list of admirers for Monaco attacking star Maghnes Akliouche, according to TEAMtalk.
The Frenchman continues to flourish for the French side and his performances in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League have caught the attention of a number of Europe’s big hitters.
Tottenham and Newcastle have both been keeping tabs on the 24-year-old, who has scored five goals and laid on an additional three assists in France’s top tier this term.
Spurs were expected to make a move for Akliouche last summer, and again in January, but opted against firming up their interest in the France international.
Liverpool add Akliouche to summer attacking targets
And the north London side and Newcastle will now face further competition in the race to land Akliouche should Monaco green light his exit.
Liverpool have reportedly added Akliouche to their list of attacking targets should Mohamed Salah leave Anfield at the end of the season.
Salah is expected to depart the Merseyside powerhouse in the summer, with a move to the Saudi Pro League mooted.
The Egypt international could be followed out of the Anfield exit by Cody Gakpo as the Reds consider their attacking targets before the transfer window re-opens later this year.
Yan Diomande, Michael Olise and Bradley Barcola have all been linked with a move to Arne Slot’s side, with Akliouche also on the defending Premier League champions’ radar.
Man Utd scouted Frenchman in recent PSG win
United scouts, meanwhile, were in attendance for Monaco’s recent 3-1 win over Ligue 1 champions PSG, and will have been suitably impressed as Akliouche scored one and assisted another for the Red and Whites.
Akliouche is able to play a number of roles across the frontline, and his versatility appeals to interested parties.
