Manchester City stalwart John Stones is of interest to clubs in three top leagues, with some of the 'top clubs in the world' keen on him, reports Caught Offside.
Stones has six Premier League titles, a Champions League and more honours to his name as a City player. He is one of the best centre-backs to feature in England in the modern era.
After 10 years, the 31-year-old is departing City at the end of his contract, confirming the decision on April 28, and where he will land is currently up in the air.
Caught Offside reports some of the 'top clubs in the world' are keen on landing the Englishman.
In England, the rumour with the most weight is a return to Everton, where Stones played 95 games from 2013-14 to 2015-16. The report suggests that move could offer sentimental value and a leadership role.
But there are some bigger clubs in other European leagues tracking the England international.
In Italy, Juventus and AC Milan are said to be 'seriously considering a move' as Stones is viewed as an ideal fit for the Serie A's more tactical style of play.
In Germany, champions Bayern Munich - managed by Stones' former team-mate Vincent Kompany - are exploring defensive reinforcements, and the experience of the departing City defender makes him a possible candidate.
Reports elsewhere suggest Stones will decide his next club after the World Cup, which takes place from June 11 to July 19.
Stones started the last three World Cup qualifiers, and though he wasn't used in the last international break, he was in the squad, suggesting Thomas Tuchel is planning to take him to the World Cup, providing he's fit.
Stones relieved after announcement
Bernardo Silva will join Stones in bringing down the curtain on an illustrious City career at the end of this season, and manager Pep Guardiola has recently detailed the feelings from his players on taking the next step.
He said: “No, it depends on the players. I think they are relieved a little bit, relaxed, you know, announcing the exits.
“I said to John, ‘How do you feel after the announcement?’. He said, ‘I feel really good, relieved. I feel love from the fans, from the people in my close environment’, the loved ones of John.
“So I know them, I know how competitive they are, I see in training Bernardo since the announcement, he’s as always. Absolutely not.”
There are six games left at City for the pair, if they are to play a part in all of them is another question. They could sign off with two more bits of silverware, with the Citizens battling for the Premier League title and favourites to win the FA Cup, where they'll face Chelsea in the final.
