PSG, Real Madrid and Inter Milan Monitoring Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate Contract Standoff

Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan and Real Madrid are monitoring Ibrahima Konate’s ongoing contract standoff with Liverpool as the trio weigh up a move for the France international, reports CaughtOffside.
Konate’s current deal at Anfield expires this summer and while the Reds are keen to tie the former RB Leipzig man down to a new contract, talks are currently at an impasse between player and club.
With negotiations stalling, that has seen the European heavyweights circle Merseyside as they seek to present their project to the French centre-back.
European giants keeping tabs on Reds centre-back
PSG are hoping to bring Konate to France as they look to bolster their backline in the off-season.
Inter, meanwhile, are weighing up their centre-back targets as the Nerazzurri consider their defensive options with both Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij in the twilight years of their respective careers.
And while they had previously cooled their interest in the 26-year-old, Los Blancos are also considering a push to sign the defender.
Real Madrid back in for Konate
Both Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba are expected to leave the Spanish giants this summer as the Madrid powerhouse assess their centre-back options.
Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano was previously a target, though the France star has since put pen to paper on a new deal with the German giants.
Real Madrid are no stranger to signing Liverpool stars on a free, having acquired Trent Alexander-Arnold from the Reds last year.
The right-back left his boyhood club for the Bernabeu, though his time in Spain has been plagued by injuries.
As a result, the 27-year-old has been restricted to just eight league starts following his arrival.
PSG, Real Madrid, Liverpool all in Champions League action
Even so, Alexander-Arnold is expected to start for Alvaro Arbeloa’s men when they take on Manchester City in the Champions League this week.
Both PSG and Liverpool are also in action as they face Chelsea and Galatasaray in their respective round-of-16 clashes.
