AC Milan are considering a summer move for AZ striker Troy Parrott as they look to revamp their frontline, reports the Independent.
Parrott has been in flying form for the Dutch side this season having scored 14 goals and provided an additional three assists across 22 Eredivisie appearances.
In addition, the AZ hitman scored five times in Republic of Ireland’s World Cup qualification campaign, including a key hat-trick in a 3-2 win over Hungary back in November.
AC Milan eyeing up attacking reinforcements
And Italian giants AC Milan are considering whether to pursue their interest in the 24-year-old at the end of the season.
The Rossoneri are expected to add a new striker in the off-season having also been linked with moves for Nicolas Jackson and Serhou Guirassy of Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund, respectively.
The Milan giants, who sit eight points behind league leaders and rivals Inter, have been held back by the inconsistency of their forwards this season.
Rossoneri's misfiring forwards
Christopher Nkunku has scored just five league goals following his summer arrival from Chelsea, while Santiago Gimenez is yet to get on the scoresheet for Max Allegri’s side.
AC Milan brought in Niclas Fullkrug on loan from West Ham in January, though the German has been restricted to a bit-part role following his arrival earlier this year with 12 of his 13 league outings coming from the bench.
The Serie A giants would face competition from Premier League side Fulham, La Liga outfit Real Betis and Bundesliga team Wolfsburg in any race to sign Parrott.
AZ open to £25m sale
AZ are believed to be open to selling one of their prized assets, who could be available for as little as £25m this summer.
Parrott is expected to feature for Ireland in their crucial World Cup playoff next week, where the Boys in Green take on Czechia.
The winner of their semi-final clash will then face the victor of Denmark and North Macedonia in the final with a spot at football’s showpiece in North America up for grabs.
