The FA Cup third round is not done yet with Manchester United welcoming Aston Villa to Old Trafford tonight.

As well as plenty of build-up to that clash, we look back on a thrilling weekend of ties.

Manchester United vs Aston Villa

The final game of the FA Cup third round takes place this evening as Villa head north to face the Red Devils.

Ralf Rangnick needs a positive result to lift the mood around United, while the visitors will be buoyed by their recent capture of Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian joined on loan last week but was forced to isolate after testing positive for coronavirus and is not expected to feature tonight.

We take a look at what the former Liverpool man will bring to Steven Gerrard’s side.

It is also the first time Gerrard visits Old Trafford as a manager — and the Reds legend will be sure to get a frosty reception from the crowd.

The midfielder enjoyed some fine days against Liverpool’s fiercest rivals during his playing career and will be hoping for more of the same in the dugout.

It was a classic weekend of FA Cup action with more than one upset sending Premier League clubs crashing out of the competition.

Cambridge’s 1-0 win at Newcastle was an occasion that 5,000 travelling U’s fans will never forget, while non-league Kidderminster got the better of Championship Reading at Aggborough.

And the last tie on Sunday saw Nottingham Forest dump Arsenal out at the third-round stage for the second time in four years.

We pick out our stars of third-round weekend — including a few names you probably do not know.

And if you missed the draw last night, check out who the giant killers have drawn in the fourth round.
