US Open Women’s Singles outright predictions: 5/1 Gauff can shine in New York again

Aryna Sabalenka is bidding for a third successive US Open title
Coco Gauff arrives at Flushing Meadows after winning in Cincinnati
Recommended bets:
Aryna Sabalenka is the13/5 favourite with LiveScore Bet to win the US Open Women’s Singles as she bids to complete a rare hat-trick in New York.
The world number one has lifted the trophy at Flushing Meadows in each of the last two seasons, but arrives with more questions surrounding her form than usual.
Sabalenka has not won a title since March and suffered disappointing fourth-round exits in both Toronto and Cincinnati, although the hard courts of New York remain her most productive hunting ground.
The Belarusian is still the player they all have to beat, but Coco Gauff and Elena Rybakina look better value at their respective prices.

Gauff can conquer New York again
Coco Gauff already knows what it takes to win the US Open and she returns to Flushing Meadows with her confidence high after a superb North American hard-court swing.
The American won Cincinnati in 2023 before going on to claim her maiden Grand Slam title in New York and has given herself the chance to repeat that trick after lifting the same trophy earlier this month.
Her serve has caused problems in the past, but it has looked much more reliable recently, while her forehand has also been considerably more consistent.
The rest of Gauff's game remains as formidable as ever, with her athleticism, court coverage and exceptional backhand making her one of the toughest players in the world to break down.
The 22-year-old has also produced strong recent results in Toronto and enters her home Grand Slam looking capable of putting together another title-winning fortnight.
Gauff is unlikely to have things all her own way, but Sabalenka's recent dip and the uncertainty surrounding some of her biggest rivals make it a tempting price for the former champion.

Rybakina can finally make her New York breakthrough
Elena Rybakina has never progressed beyond the fourth round at the US Open, but there are reasons to believe the Australian Open champion can improve on that record this year.
The powerful Kazakh has enjoyed another excellent hard-court season and possesses the biggest serve in the women's game when fully fit.
She has already shown her ability to compete with and beat the world's best players, while another deep run in New York could see her take over at world number one.
There are fitness concerns after Rybakina was forced to retire during her Cincinnati quarter-final, but she has been priced accordingly and is expected to take her place in the draw.
The two-time Grand Slam champion is too talented to ignore and her US Open record means an each-way approach looks the sensible option.
If Rybakina gets through the early rounds without any lingering fitness issues, her power game can trouble anyone left in the draw.
