Leaders Bayern Munich can open up a 14 gap at the summit of the Bundesliga with a win at home to Borussia Monchengladbach on Friday evening.
After last weekend’s shock loss to St. Pauli, Hoffenheim have a chance to get their top-four challenge back on track when they visit bottom-club Heidenheim.
St. Pauli are chasing a fourth win in five games when they welcome Eintracht Frankfurt to the
Millerntor-Stadion on Sunday.
Game week 25 of the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaigns kicks off in familiar fashion with a Friday night fixture, this time between runaway leaders Bayern Munich and Borussia Monchengladbach at the Allianz Arena.
Six more matches follow on Saturday, with FC Koln’s dinner-time clash with Borussia Dortmund coming after the five 2:30 pm fixtures have concluded.
On Sunday, German football fans have two games to tune in for, with in-form St. Pauli facing Eintracht Frankfurt in the earlier slot and Union Berlin hosting Werder Bremen shortly after.
We’ve got tips and Bundesliga predictions for all nine games from week 25 of the German top-flight, starting with Friday’s date between the champions and Gladbach.
Bayern Munich vs Borussia Monchengladbach (Friday, 7:30 pm)
Bayern Munich took a giant step towards securing the Bundesliga title last weekend when they beat closest rivals, Borussia Dortmund, in a five-goal Der Klassiker thriller. Die Roten are now 11 points clear at the summit with ten games remaining, and they can stretch their advantage further with a routine win on Friday evening.
Visitors Gladbach haven’t won an away assignment since early December and the last time they travelled to take on a team in the top three, they were dismantled by Hoffenheim (5-1, Jan 14th). Die Fohlen have notched just five goals in their last eight league matches combined, and they lack the firepower to test a dominant Bayern.
Score prediction: Bayern Munich 4-0 Borussia Monchengladbach
Freiburg vs Bayer Leverkusen (Saturday, 2:30 pm)
Freiburg’s away-day woes continued last weekend when they slipped to a 2-0 reverse at Eintracht Frankfurt, registering just four attempts in a disappointing display. They tend to perform to much higher levels at the Europa-Park-Stadion however, where Freiburg have won ten of their last 11 games in all competitions and collected 24 of their 33 total points (72.7%) for the campaign.
Bayer Leverkusen meanwhile, were held at home by Mainz (1-1) last time out and have now dropped points in three of their last four Bundesliga fixtures. Jaded by their exploits against Hamburg on Wednesday evening, the overworked Werkself could be vulnerable here.
Score prediction: Freiburg 2-1 Bayer Leverkusen
Heidenheim vs Hoffenheim (Saturday, 2:30 pm)
Any lingering hopes they had of survival were virtually extinguished last weekend when Heidenheim were beaten 2-0 by relegation rivals Werder Bremen. The Bundesliga’s bottom club, who are now nine points from safety, didn’t get a single shot on target in their defeat and failed to score for the third time in four matches.
Hoffenheim also drew a blank in surprising fashion at home to St. Pauli (0-1) when they were thwarted by an inspired Nikola Vasilj between the sticks, who made an incredible 11 saves. That was the third game in a row where Hoffenheim manufactured 18+ shots and a similar output against Heidenheim should yield a better result.
Score prediction: Heidenheim 1-3 Hoffenheim
Mainz 05 vs VfB Stuttgart (Saturday, 2:30 pm)
Mainz proved their mettle again with a draw at Bayer Leverkusen last time out, though they came within a whisper of winning before conceding an 88th-minute equalizer. Mainz have now lost only twice in 13 games since appointing Urs Fischer and they are dogged enough to trouble Stuttgart on Saturday.
Stuttgart moved level on points with third-placed Hoffenheim on Saturday following their cosy 4-0 win over Wolfsburg. Sebastian Hoeneß’s side won’t have quite as much room to manoeuvre against a better-organised Mainz unit however, and Stuttgart might have to settle for a point.
Score prediction: Mainz 05 1-1 VfB Stuttgart
RB Leipzig vs FC Augsburg (Saturday, 2:30 pm)
In-demand winger Yan Diomande scored to complete a comeback victory for RB Leipzig at Hamburg (2-1) last weekend to move Die Roten Bullen to within striking distance of third position. The red-hot Ivorian attacker also scored once and assisted twice when Leipzig hammered Augsburg 6-0 in October, and Diomande could be influential again on Saturday.
The scoreline in this weekend’s rematch is unlikely to be quite so emphatic, however. Augsburg are in season-best form and have won five of their last six tussles in the Bundesliga. They’ve won two of their last three on the road, including at Bayern Munich, so expect Augsburg to run Leipzig close.
Score prediction: RB Leipzig 3-2 FC Augsburg
Wolfsburg vs Hamburg (Saturday, 2:30 pm)
Relegation threatened Wolfsburg are reportedly considering the position of head coach Daniel Bauer following last weekend’s dire 4-0 drubbing by Stuttgart. Die Wolfe have picked up just two of the last 21 points on offer in the Bundesliga and panic is starting to set in.
Hamburg will be determined to take advantage of their opponent’s plight. They have avoided defeat in each of their last three away games, and if they still have enough in the tank following their midweek test against Bayer Leverkusen, Hamburg could secure a useful result at the Volkswagen Arena.
Score prediction: Wolfsburg 1-1 Hamburg
FC Koln vs Borussia Dortmund (Saturday, 5:30 pm)
FC Koln boss Lukas Kwasniok is under increasing pressure, with some reports suggesting he has been given an ultimatum to deliver at least four points from the club’s next three games. Unfortunately for Kwasniok and Koln, who have won only twice in their last 15 attempts in the Bundesliga, an upturn against Dortmund seems unlikely.
The visitors’ Der Klassiker loss to rivals Bayern ended their title race involvement and their trophy prospects for the campaign, though they will be keen to muster a response. Dortmund have won their last four encounters with Koln, keeping three clean sheets along the way, and they should be in command again on Saturday evening.
Score prediction: FC Koln 0-2 Borussia Dortmund
St. Pauli vs Eintracht Frankfurt (Sunday, 4:30 pm)
St. Pauli scrapped for their lives and enjoyed some good fortune, but eventually delivered a significant 1-0 win at highflying Hoffenheim last time out. That was their third win in four league games, a run that has catapulted them up to 15th position in the battle for survival.
The rejuvenated hosts, who are unbeaten in five matches at the Millerntor-Stadion, will be targeting more points when Frankfurt visit. Die Adler produced their second win in four fixtures since the arrival of new head coach Albert Riera against Freiburg (2-0) a week ago, though they are still taking shape under the Spaniard, and more bumps in the road are expected.
Score prediction: St. Pauli 1-0 Eintracht Frankfurt
Union Berlin vs Werder Bremen (Sunday, 6:30 pm)
Union Berlin’s struggles in the final third were laid bare again last weekend when they lost 1-0 at Gladbach. Goalscoring has been an issue for the Iron Ones for a while now, and Union have notched one or fewer goals in seven of their last eight Bundesliga contests.
Werder Bremen have had their own troubles at the business end of the pitch, though they did grind out a crucial 2-0 win over relegation rivals Heidenheim in their last test. However, they have failed to score in four of their last five away games. A single goal either way could decide this clash between two toothless outfits.
Score prediction: Union Berlin 1-0 Werder Bremen
