  • Fourth meets fifth at the Cledara Abbey Stadium on Thursday evening when Cambridge lock horns with Playoff rivals Swindon.

  • Grimsby can close to within striking distance of the top six with a win at home to Harrogate on Friday.

  • Salford and Notts County clash at the Peninsula Stadium in a meeting between two of the division’s prime Playoff contenders.

There is a full programme of League Two fixtures lined up ahead of the weekend, with one contest scheduled for Thursday, April 2nd and the bulk of the action pencilled in a day later on Friday, April 3rd.

There are key fixtures in the title race, battle for Playoff positions and the skirmish for survival this week and we’ve got free predictions for all 12 League Two contests on the menu.

Cambridge United vs Swindon (Thursday, 8:00 pm)

Cambridge’s hopes of maintaining a late title charge were knocked by a 1-0 reverse at Barnet on Saturday, though they haven’t lost any of their last 16 League Two fixture at home since September 6th. Playoff rivals Swindon meanwhile, have dropped points in six of their last nine matches and they might come unstuck again at the Cledara Abbey Stadium.

Score prediction: Cambridge United 1-0 Swindon

Accrington Stanley vs Crewe (Friday, 3:00 pm)

Accrington Stanley are limping towards the finish line in League Two and have lost six and drawn two of their last eight games in the division. In contrast, Crewe have found form and their hard-fought 2-1 victory over a resurgent Oldham at the weekend brought their recent tally up to seven points from three matches. Lee Bell’s charges could strengthen their Playoff push with another positive result here.

Score prediction: Accrington Stanley 1-2 Crewe

Barnet vs Bromley (Friday, 3:00 pm)

An improving Barnet took the scalps of second-place MK Dons (3-1) and Cambridge (4th)(1-0) in their last two assignments, so they can approach Friday’s tests with leaders Bromley with plenty of confidence. The wilting table toppers have failed to win three of their last four away games and were turned over by relegation-threatened Barrow (2-1) in their last outing, so another shock loss could be on the cards in this one for Bromley.

Score prediction: Barnet 1-0 Bromley

Bristol Rovers vs Fleetwood (Friday, 3:00 pm)

Goals from Riley Harbottle and Jack Sparkes helped Bristol Rovers to a 2-0 win over Accrington on Saturday to ring up the Pirates’ fifth victory in six League Two fixtures. Rovers are currently playing their best football of the campaign and they look like worthy favourites ahead of a tussle with a Fleetwood side that has enjoyed just one win in six matches.

Score prediction: Bristol Rovers 2-0 Fleetwood

Chesterfield vs Cheltenham (Friday, 3:00 pm)

Cheltenham were dismantled by Notts County (5-2) when last seen and lost right back Sam Sherring to a late red card there to add to their misery. Chesterfield, who have secured wins in three of their last five games, will feel they are meeting Cheltenham at an ideal time here. The Spireites won August’s reverse fixture 2-0 and they could complete the double in Friday’s rematch.

Score prediction: Chesterfield 2-0 Cheltenham

Colchester vs Oldham (Friday, 3:00 pm)

A goal from winger Harry Anderson earned Colchester a point against Walsall last weekend, though the U’s only win in their last seven attempts came against relegation contenders, Newport (2-1). Colchester have also failed to score in three of their last four games, so they might struggle to match Oldham’s firepower. The visitors conceded a 91st-minute decider at Crewe last time out, bringing their ten-game unbeaten streak. Oldham lodged 23 shots in that unfortunate loss however, and they can bounce back here.

Score prediction: Colchester 0-2 Oldham

Grimsby vs Harrogate (Friday, 3:00 pm)

Grimsby are eight points away from the Playoff places in League Two, but have two games in hand and they can close the gap with a win over bottom club Harrogate on Friday. The visitors have lost four of their last five fixtures, failing to score in three of those, so expect them to toil again. Grimsby hammered second-from-bottom Barrow 5-0 in their last game and they should be in total command again.

Score prediction: Grimsby 3-0 Harrogate

MK Dons vs Barrow (Friday, 3:00 pm)

Second meets second last in Milton Keynes on Friday afternoon when MK Dons take on Barrow, and anything other than a routine home win would be seen as a serious misstep for the hosts. Barrow have picked up only one of the last 24 points available to them on the road, and they are easy to oppose again here. The Dons have been bested only once on their own patch since September 20th and they should be the dominant force here.

Score prediction: MK Dons 3-1 Barrow

Newport vs Crawley (Friday, 3:00 pm)

Two of the division’s bottom four face off in a crucial contest in Wales on Friday when Newport (22nd) take on Crawley (21st). Both teams arrive on the back of wins over Shrewsbury (1-0) and Gillingham (2-0) respectively, so margins are likely to be slim. Crawley’s victory over the Gills was new manager Colin Kazim-Richards’s first game at the helm and buoyed by that promising introduction, they could avoid defeat here.

Score prediction: Newport 1-1 Crawley

Salford vs Notts County (Friday, 3:00 pm)

Salford (6th) could go level on points with Notts County (3rd) with the right result in this top-of-the-table clash. Salford have won five of their last six matches and their 1-0 triumph over MK Dons last time out felt like a significant result. Only Swindon (11) have won more away fixtures than Notts County (10) this term however, and the Magpies can make themselves a nuisance at the Peninsula Stadium.

Score prediction: Salford 1-1 Notts County

Shrewsbury vs Tranmere Rovers (Friday, 3:00 pm)

Shrewsbury have lost four games on the spin in League Two and failed to score on each occasion, while Tranmere have lost seven of their last eight assignments in the fourth tier, and have notched only one goal in their last four matches combined. Friday’s tussle between these misfiring teams is unlikely to be a classic then and a late-season stalemate could be the outcome to back.

Score prediction: Shrewsbury 0-0 Tranmere Rovers

Walsall vs Gillingham (Friday, 3:00 pm)

Walsall pushed their unbeaten streak to four games with their 1-1 draw at Colchester at the weekend and the Saddlers can return to winning ways at Gillingham’s expense on Friday. The visitors have lost five League Two fixtures on the trot and have scored only once in their last four outings combined. Walsall should be able to reignite their Playoff pursuit with a win against the vulnerable-looking Gills here.

Score prediction: Walsall 2-0 Gillingham
