Two of the division’s top six meet at the Peninsula Stadium when Salford (6th) collide with MK Dons (2nd).
International football hasn’t upset the flow of League Two football this weekend and there are ten matches from England’s fourth tier to look forward to on Saturday, 28th March.
Harrogate’s lunchtime meeting with Notts County is the day’s only early kick off (12 30 pm), before another nine matches follow in the 3 pm slot, including Barnet vs Cambridge, Salford vs MK Dons and Swindon vs Fleetwood.
We’ve compiled predictions for all 10 League Two fixtures for the 28th of March and you can check them out below.
Harrogate Town vs Notts County (Saturday, 12:30 pm)
After a bright February, Harrogate’s form has regressed to relegation standard and their 1-0 loss at Oldham last weekend was their third defeat in four League Two matches. Notts County, coincidentally, were also beaten by Oldham (0-3) in their last assignment, though they won four out of six away tests before that, and the automatic promotion contenders can rebound here.
Score prediction: Harrogate Town 1-2 Notts County
Barnet vs Cambridge United (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Barnet upset the odds to record a 3-1 comeback win at MK Dons last time out and they will be targeting a repeat result against another title hopeful when they host Cambridge on Saturday. The visitors have been defending brilliantly of late however, keeping four clean sheets in their last six league fixtures. Cambridge have also only lost one of their last 12 away matches, so back them to leave The Hive Stadium with at least a point.
Score prediction: Barnet 0-1 Cambridge United
Barrow vs Bromley (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Bottom meets first on Saturday when Barrow take on leaders Bromley at Holker Street. Barrow have earned just one point from the last nine since sacking Dino Maamria and they were torn to shreds by Grimsby (0-5) in their last outing. Bromley, who have secured clean sheets in four of their last five games, should have too much quality for their ailing hosts in this one.
Score prediction: Barrow 0-2 Bromley
Bristol Rovers vs Accrington Stanley (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Bristol Rovers’ purple patch continued on Saturday when they came from behind to earn a deserved win at Gillingham (2-1). The Pirates have now plundered four wins in their last five League Two fixtures and they can maintain their form at Accrington Stanley’s expense. The Accies are winless in seven matches, losing five times along the way, so expect them to struggle again.
Score prediction: Bristol Rovers 2-0 Accrington Stanley
Colchester United vs Walsall (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Toothless Colchester lost at Bromley (0-1) a week ago and have now failed to score in five of their last six fixtures. Walsall meanwhile, have been on an upward curve under caretaker boss Darren Byfield. They’ve won two and drawn one of their last three games under his instruction and are just two points off the playoffs. The improving Saddlers can triumph again in this one.
Score prediction: Colchester United 0-1 Walsall
Crawley Town vs Gillingham (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Crawley lost a game of fine margins at Fleetwood (0-1) seven days ago, though the draw specialists shared the spoils with their opponents five times in six matches before that. Gillingham have lost four times in a row as well as four of their last five away games, so Crawley might be able to end a lengthy wait for a victory at their visitors’ expense.
Score prediction: Crawley Town 1-0 Gillingham
Crewe Alexandra vs Oldham Athletic (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Red-hot Oldham are League Two’s form team and their superb 3-0 win over Notts County on Tuesday evening was their fifth victory in a row and eighth triumph in nine attempts in the division. Crewe meanwhile, have lost two of their last three on home soil and they could face more disappointment at the Mornflake Stadium when they host Micky Mellon’s playoff chasers.
Score prediction: Crewe Alexandra 1-2 Oldham Athletic
Newport County vs Shrewsbury Town (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Newport’s 2-1 loss at Walsall a week ago was their third defeat in four fixtures, and the Exiles remain just one point clear of the drop zone. Shrewsbury’s confidence took a battering last week at home to Crewe (0-4), though Salop managed to win three of their last four away games, and they could be menacing visitors again at Rodney Parade.
Score prediction: Newport County 1-2 Shrewsbury Town
Salford City vs MK Dons (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Salford’s four-game winning streak was snapped by promotion rivals Cambridge (0-1) last weekend and they could find the going just as tough against MK Dons (2nd). The visitors were shocked by Barnet (1-3) in their last runout, though that was their first loss in 15 League Two fixtures. MK Dons have the division’s best away record this term (36 points) and could be the side to back again here.
Score prediction: Salford City 0-1 MK Dons
Swindon Town vs Fleetwood Town (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Fleetwood’s eight-game unbeaten streak was ended by Grimsby (0-1) the same day they made interim manager Matt Lawlor their new permanent boss, though Town responded swiftly to that setback with a win over Crawley (1-0) last weekend. Swindon (5th) should provide a stiffer test, though the Robins have failed to win three in a row at home and a rejuvenated Fleetwood could dig in for a point.
Score prediction: Swindon Town 1-1 Fleetwood Town
