Group F: Portugal vs Germany, kick-off 5pm (UK time, ITV)
After becoming the leading scorer in European Championship history, Cristiano Ronaldo will have his sights set on Ali Daei’s record of 109 international goals when Portugal face Germany today.
The Portuguese legend has 106 to his name after his brace against Hungary.
But Germany will provide a sterner test for the Juventus forward, even after losing 1-0 to France in their group of death opener.
A win will see Portugal through. But Germany also need something from this game if they are to avoid a potential early exit.
Story so far
Portugal had to wait until the 84th minute to make the breakthrough against Hungary but eventually ran out 3-0 winners in Budapest in front of a capacity crowd.
Raphael Guerreiro opened the scoring before Ronaldo grabbed his record-breaking goal from the spot.
He followed that with a stoppage-time strike — his 11th in European Championship tournaments since 2004.
Germany, meanwhile, succumbed 1-0 to France with a Mats Hummels own goal the difference.
Kylian Mbappe also had a strike disallowed but Germany created several good opportunities themselves without converting.
Which Fernandes will we see?
For Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes is the definition of an output merchant. He has lots of shots, lots of passes and takes lots of risks.
Yet in Portugal’s opener, we witnessed a refrained version of the midfielder.
He took just one shot on the night, whereas Diogo Jota and Ronaldo had eight between them.
Fernandes, 26, adopted a more creative role, with 26 of the 32 passes he attempted played into the final third — completing 19 of them.
He showed a different side to his game. In doing so, he made Portugal even more of an unpredictable threat.

Gnab a goal
Germany will need Serge Gnabry to transfer his club form to international level if they are to escape Group F.
The Bayern Munich forward had arguably Die Mannschaft’s best chance against France, screwing his volley into the ground and just over the crossbar.
Gnabry, 25, has become a key man for the Bavarians, with his pace and line-breaking ability giving them something different in attack.
But it is goals upon which strikers are judged and Germany cannot afford for their main centre forward to be profligate again.
Joachim Low now has to decide whether to stick with Gnabry or try Timo Werner — who came on for the final 16 minutes in Munich — against Portugal.
Given Werner’s testing debut season at Chelsea and horror miss in the World Cup qualifying defeat to North Macedonia, Gnabry is likely to retain his place.

Lacking ideas
Germany dominated the ball (62% possession) and had more shots than France yet still came away beaten.
But those stats were not down to German brilliance. It was clearly France’s game plan. They wanted to hit the hosts on the break and exploit their lack of pace throughout the thirds.
Low’s side struggled to turn the tide despite having enough of the play to dictate proceedings. Instead, they allowed France to control what areas they could play in.
As a collective, Gnabry, Kai Havertz and Thomas Muller had just four shots — vindication for France.
Portugal’s depth

Heading into the Euros, everyone seemed to be talking about squad depth of France and England, overlooking Portugal.
Against Hungary, they brought 28-goal forward Andre Silva off of the bench. Ligue 1 winner Renato Sanches also added something different to the middle third when he replaced William Carvalho.
Rafa Silva and Joao Moutinho made cameo appearances as Joao Felix, Pedro Goncalves, Ruben Neves and £80million-rated full-back Nuno Mendes remained on the bench.
With such a talented squad, Portugal can win matches in so many different ways.
The introduction of Silva in place of Bernardo Silva with 20 minutes to go turned the tide in their opener and proved pivotal in securing what turned out to be a comfortable win.
Having so much quality in reserve could prove decisive in what is bound to be a tight game tonight.
