Soccer

2026 Men's World Cup Round of 16 at 3:00 p.m. EDT and 8:00 p.m. EDT on FOX, FOX One, and Telemundo.

Men's World Cup action continues today with Portugal vs. Spain in the afternoon, followed by the USA vs. Belgium tonight. 41-year-old soccer icon Cristiano Ronaldo hopes to keep his World Cup career alive as he and Portugal take on Spain. Later tonight, the U.S. was given a gift when striker Folarin Balogun's red card was suspended, meaning he will be playing as the USMNT takes on Belgium. The winners of these matches will go head-to-head in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Quarterfinals!

One question that will be answered: Will Cristiano Ronaldo record either a goal or an assist?

MLB

New York Yankees @ Tampa Bay Rays at 6:40 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.

The struggling 49-40 Yankees go against the red-hot 52-35 Rays as these AL East divisional rivals kick off a four-game set. Nobody has been worse than the Yanks as of late, who have a 1-9 record in their last 10 matchups. In fact, New York is tied with the Mets for the lowest winning percentage in the MLB since June 20th (.200). The same could not be said for the Rays, who are an MLB-best 8-2 in their last 10 outings. Second-year pitcher Cam Schlittler will be on the mound for the Yankees, while Griffin Jax will be the starter for Tampa.

One question that will be answered: With just 86 hits in their last 15 games, will New York record at least six tonight?

Houston Astros @ Washington Nationals at 6:45 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.

These might not be the best teams in baseball record-wise, but this game is bound to feature a lot of offense. The 46-45 nationals lead the MLB in scoring with 485 runs on the season. At the same time, the 45-47 Astros are tied with the Los Angeles Dodgers for the fourth-most home runs hit this year (122). Considering these squads also rank 25th and 26th in team ERA, it wouldn't be surprising to see either group give up a home run or two tonight. Righty Mike Burrows will be on the bump for Houston. On the other side, Miles Mikolas gets the nod for Washington.

One question that will be answered: Will these teams combine for at least three home runs this evening?

Milwaukee Brewers @ St. Louis Cardinals at 7:45 p.m. EDT on MLB.TV.

The 55-33 Brewers are hoping to keep pace with the NL-leading Los Angeles Dodgers, while the 47-40 Cardinals try to hold onto the last wild card spot in the National League. This will be the first of five games between these squads over the next four days, with a doubleheader scheduled for tomorrow. St. Louis will have its hands full with the Brewers' pitching staff, which has the best ERA in the Majors (3.35). The Cardinals get to avoid ace Jacob Misiorowski as Milwaukee will be utilizing the bullpen today. Conversely, Dustin May has been named St. Louis' starter.

One question that will be answered: How many pitchers will the Brewers use today?

WNBA

Golden State Valkyries @ Washington Mystics at 7:30 p.m. EDT on WNBA League Pass.

These are two of the premier teams in the WNBA this year. If the season ended today, the 14-7 Valkyries and the 10-9 Mystics would both qualify for the 2026 postseason. Washington has a comfortable 1.5-game lead for the eighth spot in the 2026 WNBA Playoffs. Regardless, a win could go a long way as the Mystics try to catch the Atlanta Dream for the seventh seed. There's also a chance that Washington's leading scorer, Sonia Citron, could make her return tonight after sustaining a knee injury over a week ago. As both groups try to stay in the playoff mix, this matchup will be incredibly important.

One question that will be answered: As the best three-point team in the league (10.9 made three-pointers per game), can Golden State make at least 11 shots from beyond the arc?
