Wednesday – 15:35 – Juddmonte International Stakes – Constitution River
1m 3f 188y – Flat Turf, Group 1, Class 1
10 runners (MAX 22)
Good
We’re starting off the York Ebor Festival with the biggest race of the lot – the Juddmonte International Stakes. There’s £1,500,000 guaranteed in this one, with £850,650 going to the first place finisher.
A P O’Brien’s Constitution River (7/4) isn’t the favourite in the Juddmonte – that privilege, understandably, goes to John & Thady Gosden’s Ombudsman (Evs). But the 3-year-old bay colt is our pick to take home the top prize.
His record is staggering, and he's won his last five races over both 7f and 1m2f. He’ll have his work cut out against the likes of the fantastic Ombudsman and Andrew Balding’s Item, but he’s got the talent – it’s a case of whether he can perform on the biggest of stages.

Thursday – 15:35 – Legends Global Yorkshire Oaks – Minnie Hauk
1m 2f 56y – Flat Turf, Group 1, Class 1
15 runners (MAX 20)
Good
A P O’Brien’s Minnie Hauk (10/3) is a horse that I’ve been following for a while and one that I’ve always really liked the look of. Unfortunately, she’s had a poor run of things recently, winning just once in the last five races.
Despite the poor recent runnings, she’s regularly the favourite for a reason – and she’s only behind Andrew Balding’s Kalpana (11/8) in the Legends Global Yorkshire Oaks.
She deserves a shot at redemption, and A P O’Brien wouldn’t enter her in the Legends Global Yorkshire Oaks if confident she’d overcome issues. Her recent runs lowered her price, and at 10/3, she’s undervalued for a racehorse of her caliber. An EW bet is worthwhile.

Friday – 15:35 – Coolmore City Of Troy Nunthorpe Stakes – Bacio
5f – Flat Turf, Group 1, Class 1
20 runners (MAX 22)
Good
Some less prominent runners in Friday’s feature race, the Coolmore City Of Troy Nunthorpe Stakes, and a favourite that’s too well priced to ignore.
American trainer Wesley A Ward has Bacio (3/1) in this one, a 3-year-old chestnut over from the USA who’s made quite the impression in British racing. A 5f specialist, the racehorse made his first appearance at Ascot as the 3/1 favourite in June, storming home unchallenged in a field of 27.
He’ll be looking to repeat the result in a very similar set of circumstances in the Coolmore City Of Troy Nunthorpe Stakes at York this Friday. He’s a handsome horse and one well worth backing at 3/1.

Saturday – 15:00 – Sky Bet City Of York Stakes – Flora Of Bermuda
7f – Flat Turf, Group 1, Class 1
48 runners (MAX 22)
Good
Next up, it’s the first of two must-watch races on the Saturday – the Sky Bet City Of York Stakes. There’s an enormous 48 runners currently entered, although only 22 will run in the 7f Group 1, Class 1 flat race.
Andrew Balding’s Flora Of Bermuda (16/1) looks like phenomenal value in this one.
The 5-year-old Roan Mare is good around here, most recently winning in a field of 13 (with a starting price of 3/1) in July over 6f. Throw in a 7f victory in Goodwood just four weeks ago, and you’ve got the recipe for an underpriced racehorse.

Saturday – 15:35 – Sky Bet Ebor Handicap – Kizlyar
1m 5f 188y – Flat Turf, Handicap, Class 2
64 runners (MAX 22)
Good
The final feature race for Saturday and our last tip/prediciton for the Ebor Festival – it’s time for the Sky Bet Ebor Handicap. The Flat 1m6f Class 2 handicap has a whopping 64 runners entered, although once again, only 22 will run.
Of the pages of runners worth considering, we’ve narrowed it down to Joseph Patrick O'Brien’s Kizlyar (12/1) as the one to watch. The 4-year-old Bay Gelding won last time out at Ascot with a starting price of 25/1, and the time before at Killarney at 11/1. It should be no shock, then, to see him win once at long odds – this time at 12/1.
Willie Mullins, John & Thady Gosden, Andrew Balding, William Haggas and Charlie Appleby all have entries in this one. It’s a tall ask for Kizlyar to bring this one home – but experienced in exceeding expectations.
