Owen Burrows has the favourite in this one with Waardah (11/4). Our pick, however, comes from Sir Mark Prescott’s stable – Consent (5/1). The 4-year-old Chestnut Filly may have performed poorly last time out, finishing dead last among 9 runners, but she’s proven a fierce competitor in her races prior.

Our last prediction of the day is once again at Goodwood – this time for the Phase Eight Handicap.
We’re not interested in the favourite (We're Goosers (4/1)) – we’re actually heading down to Richard Hughes’ Startled (10/1), a 3-year-old Bay Gelding that’s showing plenty of promise over 7f.
What’s most interesting for me in his recent races is his outing at Goodwood in May of this year – he finished second out of 17 runners, losing out only to Charlie Appleby’s Catullus, the favourite in that race.
A couple of victories at York and Newmarket (in May and April this year) confirm his winning potential. The question is whether jockey Harry Vigors can get the most out of him on the day. Startled’s recent race history can be seen in the table below:
